As someone who visited Sintra as a tourist, I strongly disagree with the locals about which castle/palace to miss of those three. Pena didn't do much for me, it kind of felt like a fake, colorful Disney castle. The tiles are pretty (but there's a lot of those around Portugal that don't cost 14 euros to see) and the kitchen in the end of the tour is lovely but otherwise I'd pass. The Moorish Castle however made me feel like I'm walking on a mini Great Wall, and the view was just as amazing. (Although with a lot of small steps and some ladders as far as I can remember, it might have been more hassle with Henry and Oliver) Next time you're back, give it a try. :)

Hi there. I really like this series. After watching this and Lisbon episodes I thought Id say this: Whenever you dont know how to pronounce a word in a foreign language just go to google translate or any other internet dictionary and look for the sound/audio of the word/phrase. Its super easy and quick but it makes you seem like you try to say something the right way. Im an immigrant myself, my first language is Polish and I speak English fluently but I still sometimes just check the pronunciation of some words - just to show I care. Anyway, great series and have a lovely day.

HI Iz. Wanted to thank you for your videos, they really helped us planning our trip to Portugal. We didn't have Cabo da Roca on our itinerary but after watching this video we knew we had to go there. We loved it! It was the highlight of the trip for me. I also wanted to thank you for recommending Tascantiga, the best meal we had in Portugal. Hope you to continue to produce amazing videos. Thanks.

Just got back from Portugal, Sintra is beautiful we went in the middle of winter so no lines we just walked straight in. The weather was still lovely though, 15c everyday with sunshine. I wouldn't recommend eating in Sintra however, its very expensive and touristy since its so small. I would just wait until you get back to Lisbon (Sintra is on the Lisbon metro line only about hour away by train.

My friends and I just got back from Lisbon. We went to Tascantiga and Manteigaria both based on the recommendations of this series and thank goodness we did! Great recommendations. And the castles are even more beautiful up close. Absolutely worth braving the crowds and mountainous terrain, as long as you get there early and either hike or use public transit. Thanks so much for this series!

How was it driving in Portugal? Im thinking of visiting in October, should I rent a car or go public transportation? We are thinking of flying to Barcelona afterwards, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! No kids all adults, I loved how kids seem so comfortable with the tour, food etc. Reminds me when I visited Spain with my little girl 2 yrs old( almost 23 now)

Went to Sintra for a day trip, was planning on waking up early because we wanted to go to Cascais afterwards, however went out the night before and slept in. That being said when we got to Sintra around 2PM there was little to no lines to get to all the castles and such vs the chaos of the morning rush. Just as a FYI to anyone who goes and is not in a hurry.

I went a few years a go to Portugal. all the way from the top to Lisbon. We stayed in Sintra instead of Lisbon. That way we didn't find many people, but it gets crazy during the day. Too many people, in my opinion. Being from Spain, it's funny that until then I didn't though about going to Portugal. Such great country. You should have gone to O porto too.

Everything in Sintra was made by excentric millionaries. Sintra was/is a playground to millionaries do whatever they want because they just go insane going there. That's why it looks like a magical fairytale village trapped in a magical wood in a magical mountain. And. It is: )
