Way to go homeboy both my parent's were born in San Antonio during the depression, my mom and her family moved to Los Angeles in the late forties and my dad stayed after being in the Navy and married his childhood sweet heart. All of them brought a knowledge of Texas food and music and passed it on to us children that didn't have this experience and my abulita made fresh flour tortillas everyday but had white bread to. My papa played all his Mexican music records on the record player console, and we barbequed. But the one thing we didn't have enough of was that delicious Texas pit smoked BBQ, but we did seek out all the African American Pit BBQ joints in the outskirts of the City and frequently would make a run to South Central L. A. to pick up a few pounds of sliced brisket and maybe some hot links and of course the potato salads and smoked beans and cobbler's and set it all out for a family meal young and old. Eventually that wonderful time came to an end when the people become memories and the things we remember aren't there anymore no matter how much you loved it. Los Angeles is devoid of these little mom and pop BBQ business because of the element that makes it real BBQ and that's SMOKE AND FIRE. The Bar-B-Que Restaurants are just fronts for selling their sauce's because it's just cooked meats they and you slather sauce on to make it feel like and taste like you are eating BBQ. You know like Snow Cones, Hawaiian shaved ice and a Raspada which is something else they sought out for us to grow up with which they remembered from San Antonio. Remember HIPPO SODAS? Man good luck to you I wish you could run a place like that here in the suburbs every place is gone that you could smell cooking real pit BBQ just a bunch of poser's.

When I saw the thumbnail I said nothing is better than a Valentines brisket taco then I clicked on it and it was them. I lovvvvvve this place its so fire but I hate parking next to that liquor store the dude always makes me move my damn car hahaha. .. I live by the Domain in north Austin and for a couple months straight when I discovered this place I drove down there to get some brisket tacos in Austin crap traffic with a huge smile on my face.

I grew up north of San Antonio, in New Braunfels. Thats the taste I grew up with every holiday my uncles would barbecue for 24 hours straight. All these flavors take me back. Im now doing ribeyes and New York strips on the pit. Also cooking these stove top with garlic, butter and rosemary. Ive really moved up in the world but miss the flavor this guys using.

The way cultures in the u. s. come together really makes me think of it as the place to be food wise. Everything from bbq to asian and french cuisine can be found there. At all levels. This is some high lvl bbq. Would love to visit and eat here. I'd prolly end up ordering more than i can handle

While visiting San Anto on business I ate here. NASTY GARBAGE this place was dirty and the food was over priced. Brisket was dried and just plain horrible. I got upset knowing I was supporting a THUG. Never again. Dont waste your DINERO. Stay away from this street corner dump.

I've been making my version of Brisket tacos for years, a slice of Brisket, beans, chihuahua cheese, rice, avocado salsa and slice of avocado. This guy took it to a whole new level with the real deal taco. Definitely going to travel to check this place out.

Even though the topic has been covered exhaustingly (there's a million bbq brisket videos, top flight editing, an amazing subject, and sharing of the recipes kept me glued till the end. And I really, really need to stop watching bbq videos when I'm hungry.

My girlfriends family lives across the street from Miguel. He is truly passionate and loves making food for people. They also have done so much for the food industry in ATX during the quarantin. Best BBQ and owners hands down
