i remember his father had the small shop in flushing NY 2008. it was the early days of flushing chinatown. i had a beef noodle soup was ok but i didnt like how the noodles tasted so hard and i had stomach ache after eating. the most intriguing part about the his father is when i had paid for my soup. he short change me and acted i didnt know. i confronted him and he finally give back the right amount. well now he is owns a franchise but i just wanted people to know what a cheapskate his father was. also his father often fought with customers about throwing certain trash in his bin. a total douche bag.

The amount of flour that goes unused for the 'seitan' noodles is what drove someone I know to close his business. It just wasn't cost effective AT ALL. Kudos to this father and son team. There was also a stall selling BinagBiang noodles and my father was SUPER excited and he can't stop talking about the culture and history of that noodles. Sadly it closed shop not long after. It was very good. Tastes unique even to an Asian country with a blend of different culture like mine.

I live in NYC and Im absolutely addicted to these noodle dishes. Completely changed my idea of what Chinese food could be. Probably eat at a Xian Famous Noodles at least three times every week. So far everything on the menu Ive tried has been great, except maybe the white lamb soup thing, but maybe thats just not my tastes. The TOFU soup of all things is delicious, though. The tofu just melts in your mouth and its all the perfect blend of sour and spicy.

Hey! I started making biang biang mian myself. How do you get them from the cut dough pieces to these squares? Do you use a machine for that or? Anyways my last try tasted awsome and I wil try the second noodles from the video too. Thank you and good look in NYC!

This food is just as delicious as it looks. Each location is just as good as any other and my hope is that they keep expanding until theyre everywhere, like delicious noodle Starbucks. Oh yeah, and the burgers, and dumplings, and soft tofu are wonderful as well.

I'm addicted to the Xi'an Famous Foods branch here in Chinatown in NYC (there's about five throughout the city. I really love their vegetarian tofu soup dish--it's some of the best Chinese food I've ever had. And it's only 5 a pop!

They must be doing pretty well if they donated 70K to suicide awareness. Even though Anthony Bourdain helped them become what they are. 70K will not do much for suicide awareness. Even though I feel suicidal sometimes. I can relate.

Thanks for this video. My parents hometown is in Shaanxi. These are the food I would eat once in a while throughout my childhood. Living in the states for a while now, I never thought I would miss them this much. Thanks!
