We challenged chefs of three different levels - an amateur, a home cook and a professional chef - to make their versions of tacos. And then we brought in a food scientist to review their work. Which taco was the best?

If you use sour cream, lettuce, ground beef and yellow cheese on your tacos you are definitely making an abomination. Its basically Taco Bells recipe. Lorenzos tacos are slightly elevated Crunchwrap Supremes. The level 3 chefs recipe is obviously closer to a real taco, but the meat looks dry and bland. He tries to compensate by putting more pineapple pico de gallo and guacamole on the tacos than meat. At least he made his own tortillas. None of these qualify as quality Mexican tacos, though. All of the taquerias in Mexico where I have eaten tacos seasoned the beef very well with onions and herbs. There was an almost liquid guacamole on the table and a little mild, also very runny red salsa available, but most of the natives I saw eating tacos just squeezed a little lime juice over them.

I- It alway feels so weird to see that's y'alls. Interpretation of tacos lmao, the last one is the nearest version of an actual taco but still unnecessarily fancy in some parts, I'm conflicted

As a Mexican, now I know what Italians feel when they see Americans cooking pasta. Its the same disappointing feeling I think.
