When family and friends come to your home, do they ever make it out of the kitchen? Im a kitchen person at social gatherings ( thats generally where the women hang out), cooking and preparing food is more entertaining than my friends and whatever sport is on tv. Dont get me wrong, but I rather play the game than watch someone else play the game. Again as always I enjoooooyed

I have never liked rice salads because the rice gets hard and rubbery, at least in every rice salad I have ever tried. I refer to them as maggot salads. That said, maybe the texture I object to has to do with the cooking techniques used? The rice cooking technique in the video ought to turn out perfect rice. What texture does the rice have in this confetti salad?

Just finished (except for the dill and parsley) with this salad, to be paired this evening with some nice salmon steaks and brussels sprouts (I know, not everyone likes those, but my wife and I do) The taste test before I put it into the refrigerator to relax for the next 6 hours or so yielded another wonderful dish from Chef John. Thank you, sir, and thumbs up

To finish the salad, chop 10-12 slices of fried bacon and sprinkle it all around. To further enhance the taste, serve the rice and bacon salad on a bed of sliced roast chicken. If you'd like to take it further, add a slice of roasted lamb chop with each serving.

I need a good kind of oil. I dont know what your using but it looks amazing. I also need a decent pan frying/sautee oil. I'm using grape seed as its the only oil I have that isnt extra virgin olive oil, which smokes in seconds even on low.

Coming from a home-made fried rice addict, that rice salad looks delightfully delicious, Chef John As usual, I got immense satisfaction watching you eat some at the end, and I had to giggle that you ate from the serving bowl hahaha

Cutting up veggies (and/or meat) is a good way for me to practice mindfulness and relax after stressful moments earlier in the day. It is one of the better things about cooking for me (after the tasting and eating of course.
