Picture it: You have a feeling your partner wants to break up. At dinner, you attempt an awkward small talk conversation, then bring THIS to the table. Suddenly, you wake up and notice you still have your engagement ring on. (smiles. Waiting for the CJ recipe/self help book to come out.

I gots the cabbage, I gots the corned beef, and I gots the potatoes, etc! What if the corned beef did not have the spice packet? What. spices should one add? Cutting out the core of the cabbage does that mean not using it?

Video couldn't come at a better time, have a true Irishman making a Shepard Pie tonight for a gathering. Father & Son team takes their Shepard Pie seriously, best I ever tasted. BTW: everyone is Irish on St Patrick's Day.

A nice piece of southern, buttermilk, cornbread (not the sweet cake yankees call cornbread) would be wonderful to soak up those liquids. Especially with a nice dollop of Irish butter ( or whichever butter you prefer.

I hate to be that guy but we don't eat much corned beef in Ireland. We cook our cabbage with boiled bacon. The corned beef that we do eat is very processed and eaten in sandwiches

Please excuse my pedantry. Beef=cottage pie. Mutton/lamb=shepherds pie. Here in the UK the only corned beef comes in a tin. Will have to do some research for the spices. John?

I JUST made this lol. Mine was the southern version made with ground beef. My husband was skeptical but he ate SO much of it lol. It's a very good stick to your ribs meal.
