Egg Roll in a Bowl - Food wishes
video description
1/4 turn w the veg creates varying shapes, for plating. Fantastic for creating a visual contrast of veges. Toss in a few different veges for a stir-fry, salad, or soup, etc? Yup.
Retain a few small shavings of the carrots or cabbage to sprinkle on top of a soup, meatloaf. anything?
Yup, lol.
Play w your food, peeps.
Mom is not watching now.
Great tip, Chef John.

. I'll have to remember this one especially the oven baked wrappers. There used to be a Chinese place my family loved to eat at. I'd still be going there if it hadn't shut down years ago. but we'd always get some extra wonton to go and it was always a battle between mom and me over who would eat them, we didn't even bother reheating them and would eat them cold from the fridge dipped in the red sauce they came with. don't know what that stuff is but it's delicious on fried wonton and chicken. I'd dip my fried chicken in in it too cause it was so good. This baking method is actually a lot better for me cause I don't like to use the stove top for deep frying since I don't really have a dedicated cast iron or heavy bottom pot for it so it splatters every where. all my fried chicken and pork chops are pan fried for this reason. also it uses less oil so it saves me money.

Looks great!
One small suggestion: a hot mustard (or duck sauce or sweet and sour sauce) drizzle over the results.
Then again, you're the boss of your Egg Rowl in a Bowl sauce.
My favorite sauces:
-- 1: 1 Colman's Mustard Powder to Water, and add a little of soy sauce, if desired (unless it's made with Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, like La Choy)
-- 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp Lao Gan Ma 'Spicy Chili Crisp', 1/4 tsp toasted sesame oil, 1 tsp Chinkiang (black) vinegar, 1 tsp Shaoxing wine, 1 Tbl soy sauce.

Referring to the last live chat.
Yes, SF is actually a cesspool. Just like Seattle. I've been to both many, many times, and it takes literally no effort at all to find tent cities and human excrement on the sidewalks. I can no longer justify taking the risk of taking my children to anything as innocent as the Seattle Aquarium or Woodland Park Zoo. Sooo yeah. it sucks.
On a totally different note, this looks delicious and I love Food Wishes as well as Chef John.

Thin down some duck sauce and that crazy mustard for a final drizzle! Thank you I love all that fried stuff, but I refuse to wrap individual bites of anything (life is too short) or deep fry at home (it stinks. This will be perfect with deconstructed wonton soup and fill-your-own dumpling mini-tacos.

OK Chef John. From a Keto person. AWESOME! Many of your recipes are Keto adaptable. This one definitely is. Thanks for the inspiration and for giving me alternatives to the usual low carb and keto fare. My husband loves your easy instructions. It cuts down on the time I HAVE TO COOK. 8D.

Love all your videos and have made many of them at home. Thank you for enriching my family's food choices. I do think that you could use a tiny whisk. Just a reference to Binging with Babish. Much love to you and your amazing foods.

Yummy!
How to make this if you need to eat low carb would be:
substitute baked or fried low-carb tortilla strips
instead of sugar use stevia
xanthan gum instead of cornstarch
Totally trying this.

Here in Sweden egg rolls really aren't a thing.
And for some reason I assumed there would be egg in an egg roll.
Obviously a mistake on my part, and actually a little bit of a disappointment.

Love this! I'm not keto by any means but I am diabetic and carbs are not the enemy! Our bodies need carbs but the right kind and with everything in moderation. Definitely going to try this!
