Although this is usually a way to use up stale bread, drying the bread is an unnecessary step. The bread WILL soak up plenty of custard even if fresh. Savory bread pudding is pretty good too. Bacon and sausage with cheese and peppers is among my favorites.

Highbush blueberries are never the best blueberries you can find. They're less labour intensive and easier to farm than the traditional lowbush blueberries, but while they might be twice the size they're also half the taste.
