That s right, the world s best beer batter doesn t contain any beer! By using sparkling apple cider, we are able to achieve the same light, crispy coating as a classic beer batter, but with a tastier, even more interesting flavor. Caty: Looks great. I like the salad presentation.
I can't be in chat tomorrow. So, I'd like to pose a question, now, and I can watch the video tomorrow evening.
(If there's time, and questions are running scarce): You fried these in a commercial fryer, but you have also used deep skillets, in the past. Is there a rule of thumb. apart from don't burn your thumb. about when either cooking method is advantageous, over the other? These fingers are pretty small. Would a deep skillet have worked as well? For storage consideration, I'd like to keep extra appliances at a minimum.

This looks like a great batter for seafood and veg too! Finally a batter that doesn't sog and collapse 3 mins. out of the fryer. And I suggest this phenomenon is attributable to the sugars in the apple cider! which will make coatings brown, and crisp, just think what happens when heating sugar. uh-huh, that's what I'm talkin' about! It's natural sugar, so don't freak-out, anyway, it's deep-fried, so just chill and enjoy!

English hard cider is the best in the world. Infact England/The UK makes up some 45%+ of world cider sales. 45%+ of the entire world's hard cider market, production and consumption is exclusively in England and the UK. No other country drinks or produces as much hard cider as England. We're world leaders in that field.

Chef John, nice recipe, on the mustard sauce I would liked to have seen you put some of your cayenne powdered/granulated pepper in the mustard sauce before you poured it on the plate of food as I think it would have given more pop to the flavor, just my opinion

Sounds and looks delicious, and I enjoyed the fingered line, but I won't deep-fry anything I don't want to deal with the issue of how to dispose of the oil. Wonder if this recipe would work mostly with a little oil in a skillet?

I can't wait till I have running water and can make stuff like this again. I'm glad we finally got electricity though so I can make the caldo verde come winter, that stuff is heartwarming and stomach filling

Coincidentally I was drinking apple cider (and still am. and will for a while) when I started watching this. Since I don't have any chicken breasts, I'll just batter my gut instead and enjoy the vid.

Twice-fried chicken is the way forward! You pre-fry in batches, and then re-fry to golden crispy when you want to eat. The solution to making fried chicken, but also fries, for a large family

I think those crispies you skimmed out would have gone well on the salad Chef. They were always the best part of getting a basket at Long John Silver's!
I can't wait to try these!

Thank you for mentioning all the things a person can do (and in some of your other recipe videos--things you shouldn't do. All of your showing and teaching is appreciated: )
