Nice. Oh also, about the 'holy cow ', it's more of a Indian culture thing. To explain it in one way, for the people who follow native Indian culture (not the new modern religions of Islam or Christianity, 'the feeling of eating beef/cow is like eating a pet dog', more than about anything godly or holy. India is nation of small farmers and almost every family had their own cows for milk/protein, for thousands of years. Godliness of cow is just like you know, easier for elders to make younger ones just follow without questioning too much about the topic. Dogs came into India only in last few hundred years, may be from China or Europeans got them.

Hey, I am a fan of your recepies, videos and way of cooking. I have a request. Could you do a video or a blog post on all your cooking equipment that you have. In many videos I see gear that I like, but I don't always know how it's called in order to find it. I know that most of the time it could be substituted with something simpler but I am really curious about the equipment you have, not only about the one you use. I am willing to start my own collection. Thanks in advance

Do you ever call Falafel, Shawarma and Hummus to be only Syriacn, Iraqi, Israeli or Saudi Arabian? No, they're eaten in all of Middle East. You don't associate them to a specific country. You call it Middle Eastern. Similarly the dishes like Baryani, Korma, Nihari, Tandoori Mutton, Chicken Tikka, Samosa, Gulab Jamun belonged to Northern India. Now this region is divided between India and Pakistan. Calling it just Indian is not right. Better call it sub-continent or South Asian.

I enjoy watching your videos some what but I can't get past the voice over it's sounds like your reading and trying to put emphasis on every word. After I'm done every video of yours I have to take a Tylenol because the headaches are overbearing. I just want to know if you could tone it down or get another voice that's easier to listen to

since this is on a grill it doesn't really matter, but if you're doing this on open coals then it's better to use the flat skewersthey help keep the meat from spinning around when you try to cook the other side and also since they're so thin, it's easier to stab through

Hi Chef John, one question: -When you say lamb do you mean sheep meat or goat meat, since here in India goat meat is more readily available than sheep meat (it is very very rare and hard to find butchers selling sheep meat here)Thanks for the video and a big fanCheers

When did Greek yogurt become a thing? I tried to find my black cherry yogurt the other day, and it was replaced with Greek yogurt. Not only that, the whole frick'n dairy case was full o' the stuff, and no black cherry. Screw them Greeks.

I've never thought of skewers as a monosyllable. Brilliant And the recipe is grand, too. I shouldn't watch your videos cos I end up cooking too much and getting fat. I'm fat. Sorry, Chef John: it's all your fault.
