Learn how to make a super creepy Face Pie The problem with almost all Halloween-themed recipes is that they are never actually scary, and horrifying to look at. Well, here thats not the case. Enjoy your nightmares

There's a recipe for these cute little hedgehog cookies where you wrap a cookie dough around a hazelnut and decorate it with coconut shavings and whatnot. I've always thought it'd be way more fun to wrap the cookie dough around those glace cherries so when you bit into them it looked all red on the inside lol. Would be good for halloween stuff, especially if you made them look like rats instead. Or spiders.

ive watched like 30 of your videos, AND the cadence OF your voiceover, sounds EXCACTLY like this. its SUPER annoying, could you speak in a NORMAL persons speech pattern? The recipies look REALLY delicous, but having the deliverance of every sentence like that is distracting and makes you sound like you have special needs(apologies in advance if you do have a mental disability)

Chef John, I have some questions about the actual cooking process1) did the pastry used to make the facial features actually cook through? The nose seems really thick i didnt know if it would actually cook 2) can this work as a fruit pie? This would be super creepy with a cherry or berry pie. Any flavor with gooey red filling: )

Gruesomely delicious? Gotta say, that would be a hit at any Halloween party, right up there with the cat-shit cookies, moldy mummy-wraps, and bones. And don't forget to supply a smoking cauldron full of chocolate eyeball candies (caramel-filled chocolate balls covered in eyeball-looking foil, which you can usually find at a party store.

Awesome - I am making a chili pie with a face (because most of the folks who will be eating are vegheads) for a spooky themed D & D game day. I already had the pics you mentioned in your vid but I LOVED seeing how you did it step by step. Within a week, all of my victims - er - family will be eating face pie for supper.

If only you stop your la la LA la. la la LA la. la la LA la dialogue. I would actually make it through a video. How about subtitles. that way u can turn down the volume and just read your directions. la la LA la. la la LA la. la la LA la. so annoying.

This was pretty cool. I think that I would have gone with an olive for the open eye. Maybe even a nice fancy one, stuffed with blue cheese. It might've came out a little bit runny, & which I think would've upped the creepy factor just a little bit more.

I made one of these after watching this the first time. But, I made it Apple, instead of meat. Made it for a friend. It looked pretty good for my first time. Did add more red food coloring for the lips. Again, thank you for posting.

Hi Chef John, I was just wondering why you didn't bake the bottom crust before putting in the filling? Doesn't it get soggy? Or is there a rule of thumb or some thing when it comes to these things?

This is so cool; what a great idea. I love your delivery. cracked me up I just need to find a gluten-free, lactose-free, nut-free, low-fat, free-range drifter before I attempt this, heh heh
