Sorry, the original recipe tastes, not burned, far better You over heat the oven thats why the cake cracked and this looks not very nice. The normal temperature for such a cake is 180 C approximately 60 minutes. Turn off the heat and open up the oven a bit let the cake slowly cool down in the oven. This method prevent cracking and that the cake fall down so much. After 1 or 2 hours take the cake out of the oven set it on a cooling grid and let the cake completely cool down than let it rest over night in the fridge that the aroma can completely developed. Normally we dont use cream cheese we use Quark this is a kind of very fresh cheese and not that fat. But cream cheese will do. Another way to make this cake is with a shortcrust: 450 g all purpose flour, 160g sugar, 2 eggs, 250 g butter, vanilla extract to taste, a pinch of salt, knead it until all ingredients are well combined and let it rest for 1 hour in the fridge than roll the dough out and put him in a springform pan. Fill in the cheese mass and bake it.

So I made this last week. I only had a slice (or two) because they clock in at a whopping 529 calories a slice (1/8 of the cake. Not wanting to waste anything, I stumbled into an awesome culinary discovery. well it was to me anyway. I cut the remaining cake into 1/16 slices, put them in baggies, and froze them. I thought I'd take one out once in a while, thaw it, and eat it. I took one out today at just ate it frozen (too impatient. It was an amazing frozen dessert. who would have thought, frozen cheesecake. Ok maybe I've heard of it before but I'm still claiming it.

Easy Must try this one CHEF JOHN, AT 8YRS OLD I HAD MY 1ST CHEESECAKE AT CRESTWOOD BAKERY IN ST LOUIS MISSOURI. IT WAS A NY STYLE. AND IVE NEVER HAD THE WONDERFUL FLAVOR OF IT AGAIN & SEARCHING ALL MY LIFE. CHEESECAKE FACTORY'S DOESNT COMPARE. TODAY I WONDER IF IT HAD CREAM CHEESE AND MAYBE ADDITIONAL TYPE CHEESE. DO ANY CHEESECAKE RECIPES EVEN HAVE ANOTHER CHEESE? OR WAS IT JUST THAT IT WAS MY 1ST PIECE EVER- MAKING IT THE BEST? IT WAA ABOUT 4INCHES HIGH. I WILL NEVER FORGET.

I made this and this is my new go to dessert. Very quick and easy to make and OH, OH, OH, SO FREAKING DELICIOUS A piece of this with strong good black coffee would be my requested last meal on Earth. One thing I'd add, is when it was cooling on a rack, after about an hour it was still very hot so I put it in a giant bowl of shallow ice water to cool down quicker so I could put it in the fridge sooner (without heating up my fridge.

I've made this one and it was AWESOME So great that actually i did not bring it to the event with my friends (that i initially made it for, but that i kept it at home and ate it myself over the course of a few days. I did bring another cake though. After i made the mistake and told my friends I have now been instructed to make one again. I'm still uncertain if I will actually share it this time. #selfishmaninthekitchenbaking

Alrighty, I just made this cheesecake this weekend for guests. Came out AWESOME Filled the depression with cherry pie filling, and that made it fantastic. My oven was hot, and I stepped it up to 425 for the final 10 minutes, and the top burned as depicted. However, for some reason the bottom and sides only browned ever so slightly, if at all. Any tips for ensuring you get browning happening on all sides?

For the record, I just made this and it turned out pretty decent. However, I used a 9-inch by 3 inch tall springform pan because that's all I had, and because I was lazy and multitasking I decided to use my stand mixer to incorporate the ingredients together, except I think I Incorporated too much air because the cheesecake lifted a good inch past the top of my 3in tall springform pan.

Everyone always says my mom makes the best cheesecake. She literally uses the recipe on the packages of Philadelphia Cream Cheese. But The reason that recipe is so good is because it super simple. Its cream cheese, eggs, sugar, vanilla. People put jello and plaster and super glue and all kinds of weird stuff in their cheesecakes and nothing is as good and the simple recipe.

I just made this. I used an electric mixer and I think I got a little too much spring in the final product. Scraps taste nice and I'll see if it's sliced gold tomorrow afternoon. I hit it with the broiler for 2 minutes at the end because it wasn't browning after 50 minutes. :) Thanks for the recipe, and be prepared to have some leftovers if you make this.

Thanks for this video Chef John only because i was trying to make your regular cheesecake and accidentally made the burnt version made me feel a little better and gave me an excuse for my wife who was laughing at me. Nonetheless my burnt cheesecake was very tasty and coincidentally sitting in the fridge when this version came out.
