Chocolate Tart - Tarte au Chocolat - is another chocolate French recipe that is really delightful and satisfying. It is a real Tarte au Chocolat, made with a homemade buttery crust (pate sablee) and a chocolate, cream and eggs filling. Music from Artlist. io - Title: Waiting for the Storm to Break. Artist: Josh Fuhrmeister Ingredients Makes about 6 servings Pate Sablee 1 stick (110g) unsalted butter, room temperature 1/4 cup (30g) powdered sugar 1 egg 1 1/4 cups (160g) all-purpose flour 1/2 cup (50g) ground almonds 1/4 tsp (1g) salt 1 tbsp (15ml) milk Chocolate Filling 7 oz (200g) semisweet chocolate 55-70% 2/3 cup (160g) whipping cream 1/3 cup (80ml) milk 2 small eggs Pinch of salt 2 tbsp (30g) sugar 1 tsp (5g) vanilla extract 1. Prepare the filling. In a medium saucepan bring the cream and milk to a simmer over medium-low heat (Do not boil. 14. Remove from heat and add the chocolate cut in smaller pieces. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Add sugar and vanilla and stir to combine. Add eggs one at a time and whisk to combine. 15. Made this yesterday. My husband had a piece in the morning, one in the afternoon and at night he cut another piece, predicted that it will be a bit heavy for him at night. And ate it anyway (he's an athletic guy) My step son decided he didn't like dark chocolate but guess what He finished his piece in a snap Thanks for the recipe

This looks great I could definitely do with a slice of this and a nice cup of coffee or tea. If you crumple up the parchment paper before putting the baking weights/beans into it, it'll go all the way to the edges of the shell Also, if you cut the excess dough off after you bake the shell, you'll get neater edges

I made this just now. But the chocolate filling is not smooth because it's cooked. I wonder if the oven is supposed to be turned off by the time I put the tart into oven again or what. Because the texture of the filling is very different.

If i were to make a biscuit base (easier, can i still put the chocolate mixture and bake it? Another question is should i actually bake the chocolate mixture because it seems pretty fine on its own. Could i just leave it in the fridge?

If I'm about to be executed I would ask for this tart as my last meal on earth. I would like to experience a slice of heaven before spending an eternity in hell.
