This easy chicken pie recipe is dead simple and can be knocked up in no time at all. Perfect with greens and mash, it's a great winter warmer. Jamie's here to show you every step of the way. This speedy recipe is from Jamie's 30 Minute Meals TV series first aired on Channel 4 in 2010. All the food made in this video was shared out and eaten among the very lucky crew. Nothing goes to waste. If you're in the UK or Ireland you can watch the whole series right here: Read the full recipe on page 92-93 of Jamie's 30 Minute Meals book. Hi Jamie, Thanks for the video. I have two quick questions for you. 1. Would you try it with a little Tumeric and ground cumin? 2. Would you make the white sauce in a different pan and then transfer the sauce to the chicken dish? 3. What would you serve it with? Veg? Have a wonderful Happy New Year to you and your family.

I ve made this pie at least 5 times now and it is absolutely delicious I would encourage anyone to try it! I was surprised with the mustard but I swear it is so tasty mixed with everything! I have 46 30min meals recorded on my Sky Q box and have tried and tested all of them, I LOVE his easy meals!

The quickest and the most flexible recipe ever! I've made it thousand times and everytime I put something different: yogurt, nuts, onions, and each time the pie is so tasty that it's gone in 2 minutes. I use 2 pastries too, one at the bottom and one as showed in the video, it's perfect!

In my experience, puff pastry still tends to be quite raw underneath when cooked this briefly. I would roll it out a bit thinner, then cook it for slightly longer. 30 minutes wouldn't come amiss. OK, so it's not then a 30 minute meal, but it's worth doing.

I made the pie twice both times it was absolutely lovely I just have one issue the pastry didn t come out as crusty as I would want it too the pie crust wasn t fully cooked from underneath how can I get the crust to be fully cooked and crispy

I made this, or my variation of it (I put ground sage and onion relish in it instead of mustard and another ingredient, the other night and it turned out amazing! Don't get caught up with having the 'correct' ingridients. Just wing ittt.

This would be improved by waiting for the filling to cool down before placing the puff pastry over the dish, because the heat from the filling can meant the butter in the pastry and you end up with the pastry quite soggy underneath.

Filling looks a bit runny for my taste. any tips to thicken it? Maybe some more flour? Or a Rue? I wanna try this recipe, but it looks like chicken soup under the pastry. I want something rich and hearty.

Looks fabulous, I just struggle with there being no pastry base. I can hear my mother saying, it's not a proper pie if it has no base. I do agree with her, but for a quick recipe - primo! Thanks man.
