Indian food is good but all it seems to be is some variation of curried meat with either rice or a flat bread. The flavours are always the same basically, no matter what you call the dish. At least French or Italian cuisine have dishes that taste completely different from one another and don't all use the same spices etc. Sad to see some idiots think italian cuisine is just pizza or tomato. Go and travel a bit instead of stuffing your mouth with Pizza Hut pizza, thinking that's real italian food; your traditional cuisine is so bland you latched onto curry as it's got a bit of flavour at least. That's why it is so popular with Brits and less in America where they have lots of immigrants from Latin America and so on who have good cuisines of their own. These people in the comments also think heat equals flavour. maybe for people who are used to potatoes and mince yes lol. Heat is a shortcut to flavour. Flavour comes from the quality of ingredients and the combination of spices and seasoning, not just chillies.

This idiot thinks one man made Butter chicken and his grandson Manish gave him the recipie. He was cooking it in Jamie and Jimmys Soth End Cafe. They after the complaints Indians have made, i. e. why are all your recipies stolen from Indians but one is never in any of your shows unless she is female? He has to show a Sikh complete with Turban, given the prominent place where he would be seen, makes Makhni chicken which he can't even prounounce, Raithia with Winklemann why did you not just a an Indian male to make it? The one who gave you the recipie? Yes your happy to show black men, black women, Chinese women, but never ever the Indian male? Yet when you wan to steal yest steal the recipie you will go to Abdul, Manish, or Raj and have no issues. Make your own boiled liver and cabbage you tosser!

I read somewhere that Butter chicken is a by-product of Chicken Tandoori. It all started with leftover grilled chicken. Tandoori chickens turn very dry. Hence they can't be stored overnight or reheated. Some people tried to rehydrate the leftover charred pieces of chicken in butter and tomato gravy, and it was a big hit. It turned out so delicious that people all over the world loved it. It is a relatively new dish, given that India has a well documented culinary history of over a thousand years. It was supposed to be a way of reducing wastage, but ended up impressing the world.

It s not too many spices. It s almost standard Indian spices. In hotter places, there is risk of meats going bad. So most meats are well marinated in spices - ginger, garlic for digestion, turmeric for anti bacterial properties etc. My grandmother told me this after i complained to her about her recipes including too many spices I can t find in Europe. You can skip some things but it s important to keep Kashmiri chili powder and coriander powder in there. Ratio 1: 2. You will compromise on taste a bit, but I m sure it s not too much.

Hello! I am so glad I stumbled upon this video, I must have played it back 5-6 times as I am making the recipe for my son who loves chicken dishes and I am vegetarian. Between Jamie and Mauneika I had a good idea of what the spices were used for and how much I would need to adjust. So far so good, I have placed the chicken for marination for 30 min. Can't wait to grill the chicken on skewers and prepare the sauce! So excited to see my son's face. Thanks to both of you.

This man should have been named Jamiestan, Alibhai-iver. Hes always making Indian or Asian food! If I want Indian food I would ask an Indian to make it. Funny you steal all your recipies from Indian males, but then you have never had one in your Sarfend Cafe, or your presentations. But when you need a rcipeie its I will got to Raj, Kuldeep, Abdul.

I see that in all of Olivers food shows, its always Indian and he only ever shows Indian women, yet when he want the real Indian taste he goes to the Indian males? On his shows and even his Southend Pier he has never shown an Indian male does not have any Indian males even in the shots. He has tonnes of black males but not one Indian male!

We went to this Indian restaurant in our city, food was a disaster. I think they microgolf the food from refrigerator. My friend went to use their toilette, it was stinky and dirty just like you will expect from indians. It seems they have no education on hygiene. We had to pay for that food 65 which we couldn t eat.

This is the best butter chicken recipe I ve made so far. Nothing else I ve tried even comes close. I still check out other recipes but always come back to Maunika s. Don t skimp on the methi / fenugreek, it s like magic in this dish.
