Learning how to make a tomato sauce, is the best thing iv learned in the kitchen. I do it differently though. I use decent ammount of olive oil. Onion, garlic(crushed, chili/cayenne, and sometimes paprika. Fry it quickly. Add canned, chopped tomato, and add some fresh aswell. Allso, i crush a stock cube, chicken in there for flavour. Salt, pepper. Basil ofc. Then i use a mixer to blend it to a fine sauce. Done. Its delicious on pizza. On pasta. In a lasagne. Etc etc. (Ofc on a pizza with bold flavours, like chorizo etc, the sauce dont need much flavour other than tomato/chili/basil/garlic. Can dial back on the cube, salt and pepper etc)

I think that Oliver is a ridiculous, little joke compared to Gennaro Contaldo. It almost makes me aggressive to see this idiot say anything about making Pizza while Gennaro sits next to him. If you are lucky enough in your life to have THE Gennaro Contaldo making a Pizza for you, sit there, wait, shut up and enjoy. There's literally NOTHING sensefull a small, inexperienced, british wannabe-chef like Oliver could say to Gennaro Contaldo while he's making a Pizza. He thinks he's the Boss but he seriously can't do anything that an average chef from any good restaurant couldn't do. He's a hypocrite.

So despite following the instructions, I can't seem to get the liquid from the tomatoes to stop sogging up the pizza after I pull it out. I've spread it out real thin across the entire thing, and using a slotted spoon as to leave the juices behind and get the actual tomatoes. The crust turns out perfect, but after five or six minutes out of the oven it just gets a little soggy. Suggestions?

Jamie your simple classic and your an artist of cooking. you maintain all the colors of the ingredients very well. I think that's way people call cooking is an art. and yours recipes are the perfect example of that quote. love you Jamie from India

I bet they did NOT bite into it when it came straight out of that wood oven - at least I wouldnt advise to do so! :D But great recipe and nice to see the two of them having so much fun together. :)

I love Jamie & Gennaro, but C'MON, cheddar on any pizza of mine is travesty especially after all the other fine ingredients you used here. I truly hope this pizza was not made on Italian soil.

Very fun video with very little cooking. The pre made sause was only seasoned, and the dough was pre made as well. Sorry guys, the magic in pizza is not in the topping, it's in the basics.
