I use to use the oil technique but saw someone microwave them. So I now put around 10 tortillas in a quart zip lock freezer bag for about 45 seconds with the bag open just enough to release steam or until they get very pliable from their own steam. I find this way a less oily mess when I roll. I do 10 at a time because if you do more they tend to cool down and they aren't as easy to roll. I started using the glue technique because of you. Thank you I now enjoy making flautas. I have 30 frozen at the moment ready to be devoured haha

I made chicken taquitos recently but used the traditional guacamole. fresh mashed avocados.
Which I love with my homeade salsa. This consume' you made looks wonderful and I'm sure smells amazing. I'll need to try this method. by the way, old school taught me to seal my taquitos with a toothpick. I'll need to try your method

So, you made shallow, but hard fried enchiladas, and call it flautas. That's the miracle of Mexican food, same ingredients, prepared differently. I think Circle-K convenience store has a roller grill to make the same thing. Of course you're bending down to get in the frame, otherwise you wouldn't be in the frame.

Hello, before I get to my question I would like to say your videos help me so much. Thank you. I am from the Rio Grande Valley but I never really cooked. I still can't get soft flour tortillas and it's so annoyingbur anyways can you eat this salsa with everything else too i. e. eggsbeans

Thumbs up to using the rendered chicken broth for another recipe. I use my rendered broth for chicken noodle soup, when making Mexican rice, sometimes even for boiling potatoes. I didn't know you could make consome from the broth. Those flautas looked good.

Pro tip: brush oil on the tortillas and nuke them in the microwave for 1 to 2 min until pliable. Saves the step of cooking each one individually.
