Tomato soup and grilled cheese is the perfect combination. Pure comfort food.
I have 'adopted' two families. One is an elderly couple, the wife is going through cancer treatment. I bring them a good sized meal and soups for their freezer, once a week.
The other is a young mother with a 1 year old. I buy the groceries and she comes over once a week and we meal prep together. She learns to cook and goes home with plenty of meals for the week.
I'm cooking anyway, I might as well help feed a few others in the process.

So much for the can variety tomato soup. This recipe was way too easy. I've never made atole this way, though. I used to make the rice version atole using only a tablespoon of rice seeped in a couple cups of water with a drop or two vanilla and a small sprinkle of sugar. After I strained the rice, I'd give it to my mother for digestion problems and for overall good health. I learned it from the way she used to make it for us as kids. A very old tradition indeed.

I have had doctored up tomato soup, but never homemade tomato soup. Since I am still harvesting tomatoes from the garden, I will be going wild with this recipe! I can't believe I didn't think of it myself! I also love corn and have never had the drink you made. I think I'll try it when the kiddos come home! Thank you for these recipes, Angelica!

Tomato soup and grilled is my favorite! I like to cut my grilled cheese into croutons for fancy. In the Northeast, Hannaford supermarkets will be putting $10 and $20 cards on a rack near the checkout. It tells you how many meals that money will buy for families through your local food bank.

There is nothing better than a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup! Your homemade version looks delicious. And looks super easy too. It's 46 degrees and rainy right now in western PA and I think I know what I'm making for dinner!

I've started spreading garden vegetable cream cheese or onion and chive cream cheese on one piece of bread when I make a grilled cheese. Then I put shredded sharp cheddar cheese or pepper jack slices inside. Both are delicious!

I just made a 6 quart crock pot full of minestrone soup today. I had about half a pound of hot italian sausage I needed to use so I diced it up and threw it in there. So good. Hooray for soup season!

Love your videos! Love how generous you are. I just called my local food bank and doubled my usual monthly donation. I am worried about children being hungry this winter. Every little bit helps.

Oh my this soup looks amazing! Something I've had on my mind to fix. Your hot beverage is so different to me. What was the sugar you used if I'm going to do it right
Love your videos!
