That looks sooo good and is also one of MY favorites! Funny story: I used to work with a young Chinese guy in Oakland CA and loved to pick his brains for how his mom cooked different things. One day I asked him if he could tell me about how she made the sauce for egg foo young and he told me it came in a can ) and the brand was (here he kind of stumbled over the name trying to remember it) Chef. Boy. yar. dee! I just said Oh mannn you have got to be kidding me!

In the seventies we would go to a restaurant in Pasadena, Calif. called Penguin Palace for lunch. They had a buffet with only a few items. One was egg foo young with a very delicious gravy. I ate it every time we went there but one day they were closed. out of business. i missed that place and their food. I've never found egg foo young that compares. I've made it at home a few times, good, but nothing like theirs. I'm going to give yours a try soon.

I've never tried this dish but now that I know how it's done I'm def trying it next I go to a Chinese restaurant. I would have liked if you mentioned that when you started mixing the eggs they should keep mixing until whipped up. Some people might just mix and it won't come out the same. Other than that it looks good

My family would go to our favorite Chinese restaurant called Henry’s when I was a kid. My parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins would meet there on a Friday or Saturday night. Great memories for me. My absolute favorite as a kid and even now, would be the Egg Foo Young. Now I want some.

I like your recipe! This is one of the few Chinese dishes I’ve actually made and my recipe is very much like yours! I’ve since lost my recipe but thanks to you I can use yours! I can make a whole meal out of just the egg fu young! YUM! Hope you’re enjoying the holiday season!

uh oh. is that the authentic way to make the sauce cuz my go-to chinese place told me it was vegetarian-friendly, but if it has chicken stock and oyster sauce, it’s definitely not. well, i guess I’m just gonna have to make it at home from now on. thanks for the recipe!

Years ago. believe it or not Chung King use to make a kit you could buy in the store. I don't like their other products at all, but this was the sh$t and they quit making it. The sauce was amazing too! Everytime I've ordered it out. complete disappointment.

OMG that looks good! My mom loved egg foo young and knew the best places to get it but they all have closed down. I have not had a delicious one in a long time and I didn’t know they were so easy to make. I’m trying your recipe! Thank you your the best

I admit, with all the other choices available I do not get Egg Foo Young. It really should be half the price they charge for what it is. But, I can see in your face how much you like this dish and it makes me want to give it a try at home now!

I love egg foo young but I haven’t made it in awhile. I always get it and Moo Goo Guy Pan with a egg roll when I go out. Yours looks amazing mine never looks that emulsified! Thank you, I’ll be right over! just kidding!

Big whoop. So you flipped it a bit early. It turned out looking great.
I especially like how you don't stop the tape and redo it until it's perfect. You're the real deal.
Thx for the variety of dishes that you show us.

Obviously you dumped something different in that cooking oil than what you were mixing. It's not like that mix suddenly grew like a yeast batter from two eggs. Wanna try telling us what you added

I enjoy your recipes I tried a few and they came out good. Also I enjoy looking at your very pretty face. I am not flirting I am just an old man. Thank you for your recipes

I like to add a small can of chicken in my egg foo yung, including the water/broth without draining. The extra liquid adds more flavor and gives the patties a fluffy texture.

I always add oyster sauce to get that restaurant flavor I love so much. Never knew how to make the sauce though which is super important to the dish. Thank you for the recipe.

I live out in the country, and the only stores (and they are a drive) are Walmart and Aldi. Do either of these stores carry bean sprouts This looks like a great recipe!

I never could hold chop sticks right
Love your curly hair as it gets longer. My youngest son had very curly hair and his kids have those beautiful curls to their hair.

Looks delicious
My favorite Chinese restaurant is literally steps from my apartment. Excellent food except for egg foo young. It looks like burnt road kill.

I'm in California and the best egg foo yung I've ever had was at a small family restaurant in Costa Mesa back in the day. It was made with bean sprouts. So, so good!
