Sooo I was tired of eating meat here and ther small meals. I searched for how to make arroz con pollo and ur the first one I seen, went to the store and got all the stuff, now I m waiting till dot cooks hopefully it comes good. My mom know how to make the arroz con pollo but Guatemalan style and let me tell you it comes out bomb but i wanted something easier. Will comment back once it s done.

I grew up on softer soupier arroz con pollo, that is how my mom made it and we still eat it that way, I use a pack of drummettes so I don't have to worry about cooking the chicken so long. But I also love it with chicken thighs and sometimes I throw in sliced up baby carrots so I have a vegetable. :) I LOVE that you are making recipes from my background in south Texas!

I never cook drum sticks. Hate having a meal with bone and gristle in it. But i was given drums recently and now i know what to do with them. And truth i never tried making rice and chicken cause i was scared of having the chicken still raw at the end. But your precook tip is so perfect. Gonna try this with quinoa. Thanks for sharing.

FINALLY made this after weeks of looking at this video. Definitely be generous with the seasoning. I held back a little because I m always afraid of over seasoning my food. But my food came out a little bland. Other than that, the chicken came out so so tender and was falling off the bone! The rice turned out the perfect texture!

It is really hard to overcook dark meat (legs) but if you did this with chicken breast (white meat) you would not want to cook it fully before adding it to the rice. A couple of month ago you replied to my comment about pickled Mexican vegetables, that you would show a recipe very soon, is soon going to be soon? love your recipes.

My question is how do you cook on a stainless steel pan with out it sticking? I tried with my chicken and it all stuck, on a low heat as well. Preheated pan, added oil, waited a bit then added the chicken. I just changed pans because I was afraid to have the rice stick
