Today I am cooking at home and making crispy Korean fried chicken. Homestyle Korean fried chicken is a family favorite and the sauce is great for coating our even dipping fried chicken. Ingredients 2 to 2. 5 lbs (1 to 1. 5 kg) chicken legs 1 tsp (5 g) salt 1/2 tsp (2. 5 g) ginger powder 1/2 tsp (2. 5 g) red pepper powder 1 tsp (3 g) garlic powder 1 tsp (3 g) onion powder 1 cup (236. 5 ml) buttermilk I used 1 1/2 quarts (1. 42 L) cooking oil to deep fry FRY MIX 1 1/4 cup (157 g) all-purpose flour 1 1/2 tsp (4. 5 g) chicken bouillon powder 1/2 tsp (2. 5 g) salt 1 tsp (4 g) sugar 1 tsp (5 g) ginger powder 1 tsp (5 g) red pepper powder 1 1/2 tsp (4. 5 g) granulated garlic powder 1 1/2 tsp (4. 5 g) granulated onion powder 8 to 10 fl oz mineral water SAUCE 1 tbsp cooking oil 1 cloves minced garlic 1/2 tsp ginger paste 1/2 cup ketchup 1 to 2 Tbsp gochujang 1 1/2 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium soy sauce works well) 1 Tbsp cooking wine or mirin 3 Tbsp water 1 1/2 tsp sugar 1 tsp sesame oil

Oooh yummy! Is there a substitute for Korean red pepper powder, i. e. if I don't find it at the store? How is it different from, say, Vietnamese red chili flakes (which i have LOL?

Should have put flour on it first because all you did from the wet marinade to the other bowl you washed off the buttermilk and seasoning
