Mark, your Syria series is probably my favorite series (of many great series. Not so much for the food (which includes too much meat for me, but for everything else. For sharing the wonderful hospitability of the Syrian people with us! For showing us an honest insight into Syria, without being overally negative, but also without closing your eyes to the loss and atrocities of so many years of civil war. And with your usual wonderful kindness and tolerance for other cultures, mentalities and religions. The world would be a much better place, with more people like you, Ying and Micah!

It is very good that they didn't take their son there's no reason to put this child in risk and they know that they have a potential chance of make it at home or not make it at home I wouldn't risk how this world is now I know you make content and this is what you do for a living but if you don't live how are you going to continue to make contact go to places that you know that is safe

Rami is by far my favourite local guide on your videos, Mark, and this Syria series has been exceptional. i've learnt so much that i wouldn't have otherwise, and i really appreciate it. i wouldn't normally hire a guide, but 100% if i'm able to visit Syria one day, there's no way i'm doing it without Rami. outstanding.

I'm recovering from food poisoning I got this weekend and I don't eat any of the bizarre stuff you eat. Have you ever been bitten by the bug after eating something I mean how could it not happen when you travel all over and eat several meals a day in different countries.

Polite isn't the same thing as nice people or person. The most dangerous people use being polite, it doesn't make a person safe or charitable. That character is only revealed when people have to choose dismissing their desires for others needs, and freedoms.

Loving the gastro diplomacy. The crisis in Syria has been drastically under reported in the mainstream media. It's not a political thing, it's a crisis of humanity. Bless you, Mark for your contribution to exposing the beauty of Syrian culture.

I watch your videos from Bangladesh. I watch almost all your reviews. But even though all the videos have translations in many languages, why not in Bengali I am hopeful that you will also translate Bangla from now on.

You want me to keep the comment respectful but didn’t respect the blood of 1. 5 million who they got killed by the Syrian regime by supporting this regime by going there and make the people think everything is okay now

If you see Matk long enough, you can tell the difference when Mark really like the food, the so so one and which one he doesn't so keen on (mostly sweets) in this one video. Everything is on his expression

I have loved the series, very beautiful and interesting. Noticed that lamb is eaten a lot in Syria. Just a questiondo the locals eat other types of meat as well such as chicken, fish and beef

Something I noticed from the video. I barely saw any fat folks. Everyone's slimmish. A stark contrast to when you're roaming the US for food, Mark.
