Watch the entire Bangkok food and travel series: #2WeeksInBangkok - Day 1: On Day 1 in this Bangkok travel and food guide video series we left our house in Bangkok, and checked into a hotel near Khao San Road in the Banglamphu area of Bangkok, and then had one of the most ridiculously creamy versions of tom yum goong. 2: 09 Lunch - Before doing anything, I had a quick lunch at home, cooked by my mother in law. 3: 30 Leaving Home - After a quick lunch, we left our house, and to get to the Khao San Road are we took the BTS skytrain to National Stadium Station, then walked over to the Khlong Saen Saeb canal where we caught the Bangkok canal boat to Phanfa Leelard Pier, which is the final boat station. From there we walked over to Khao San Road, and to our hotel called Full House Khao San, and checked in. 7: 31 Tom Yum Goong Banglamphu ) - After checking into our hotel, we were pretty hungry again, so we dropped our bags, and then headed off to go to a restaurant called Tom Yum Goong Banglamphu (, it was my first time to eat here and the food was incredible. We ordered two Thai shrimp dishes including tom yum goong ) soup and pla goong ) which is a shrimp salad. The shrimp were incredibly good, so buttery and so rich and creamy. No sure if its the best tom yum goong in Bangkok, but it was definitely one of the best Ive had and made it to my list of top tom yum in Bangkok. The pla goong ) was also delicious, nice and sour and spicy. Get more details here: 13: 44 Khao San Road and Rambuttri - After an excellent early dinner we headed off to walk around Khao San Road and the parallel Rambuttri, both of which are the center of backpacking tourism in Bangkok. There are many restaurants, bars, and hostels along the streets. We mostly just took a walk through, and then headed over to Phra Athit Road. 16: 49 Park and Chao Phraya River, Suan Santichai ) - After walking through Khao San Road, we headed to the Chao Phraya River, and enjoyed the view from Suan Santichai. We happen to arrive just as they were doing the evening aerobics, which is always interesting to see, and I also enjoyed the views of the Phra Sumen fort at night. 17: 43 Roti Mataba ) Restaurant - One of the long standing famous restaurants along Phra Athit road is Roti Mataba ) Restaurant. I had been here years ago, so I was happy to eat here again. They specialize mainly in Halal Thai food, specifically curry and roti mataba (stuffed roti. Ying and I had the roti mataba pla, roti stuffed with fish, the gaeng kari pla, a type of Thai fish curry, and the kiew wan gai, green chicken curry. The food overall was a bit on the sweet side, not my favorite, but alright. It was a good way to end a wonderful first day on this Bangkok trip

I love your content, you have a great relationship with the camera, your shots are professional, and the food you eat is exciting and looks really great. Despite this, I feel like the way you react to the food really divides your viewers. I really want to watch everything you put out but I find your reactions over the top, cringy, and unnecessary. They make me feel uncomfortable and judging by the comments on numerous videos, many other people feel the same way. Also everything you eat is met by the same foodgasm and its hard to judge what is and what isnt good. I am not saying you should stop being yourself or not express yourself, but you should listen to your viewers and respond to the feedback.

Me and my buddy walked by a house there near the Temple of the Golden Mount. The house had a boxing ring in the back and some heavy bags and a handful of guys hanging out. My friend and I went to 7-11 got a case of Leo and hung out with them. The owner was a former belt holder and his son was getting ready for his first fight in Lumphini. There was a 70 year old guy there that actually made the championship belts and could still kick like a mule at 70. We trained with them there for a week and went to a fight together at Lumphini Stadium. Really great time. Your video with the temple in the background brings me back. Thanks

Mark have you ever noticed at about 15: 43 there's a lightening strike in the background just over your right shoulder? Very cool Nice to see you living life with your family doing what most of us only dream of ever being able to do. I have lived abroad and traveled to many, many countries but health & age has slowed me down. Now I live vicariously through people like you. Blessings to you and your family If your mother-in-law wants to teach me to cook southern Thai. I would take her up on that in a fraction of a heartbeat

Saw this just Now but I was there last weekend and roamed Rambuttri and Khao San. We ate at the Thai versions of Filipino- carinderia eateries. All so good specially when The heat was brought to pet makmak levels. Kayo San at night was a lit mosh pit. Good for young people.
