Mark your friend Ken, maybe is a food blogger but I think he only expert in eating, since his explanation is wrong exeptionally wrong, for instance gudeg is not a stew, its a combination of several foods that can be eaten separately or together, he did mention chicken, egg, jackfruit, cow skin (krecek) which can be very spicy, gudeg is made using coconut milk His explanation of rawon is very rudimentary. Its a dish from East Java, using the kluwek fruit. Garang is literal translation to Bahasa Indonesia. And his choice of restaurants is concentrated in WestJakarta, there are lot of places in other parts of Jakarta. His mistakes are not only in this video but in other videos. I like it better when you present alone, like the soto betawi, konro etc,

I really enjoy your food videos, Mark. What I like about it is your honest expression instantly seen when taking your first bite. It has become your signature on all your videos. However, I disagree on the idea of having another person in the same frame with you when doing this. It messes up your 'aura', your signature expression. It quickly become a discussion about the food your eating. If you have a companion, they can stay out of the screen during the recording. No hard feeling to all persons involved, yes? Just my personal opinion.

for gudeg you should go straight to Jogja to be more authentic flavor haha but personally i kinda dislike gudeg jogja cos it's more dry and sweet some other are too sweet for me so i dont like it much but you should try gudeg solo, it's more flavorful more soggy cos theres a i dnt know wht called in english but we usually called it Juruh from coconut milk and other bumbu or seasoning, you can pour it on top of gudeg so it kinda soury then gudeg jogja. and my mom had the best garang asem in the world haha i can tell you: p

To be honest, this stall is not represents the real 'Nasi Gudeg' itself (AT ALL. this stall represents good Nasi Gandul, but definitely not Nasi Gudeg especially the Krecek is too very sweet If you're looking for a much better version of Nasi Gudeg, you guys should go to Nasi Gudeg Bu Hani (Cengkareng / Mampang) with a superb krecek with hot and spicy taste with one of finest chilli sambal.

Mark is a lovable guy. Even his fans that are featured on his shows in the places he visits acts like him that's how loyal they are. they copy his bodily and face expressions and hmmms what I like best about mark aside for describing the food to the point that you can actually TASTE IT, is his humbleness. I'm taking some life lessons on how to be humble from Mark.

There are two types of chicken in your gudeg, one is the shredded chicken, what we call opor ayam, in traditional way the chicken is cooked together with the jackfruit, there are two types of gudeg dry and wet, you are eating here is the wet gudeg. If you ever go to Yogya one of the best is Gudeg Yu Jum. And Pak Ken don't be to stingy, why share the food and drinks.

great video. Just a suggestion. Maybe good to feature in your video a guest or guide that could provide a little bit of description on the food you were tasting. I saw some of your video and there are some error, not big significant error, in the information you or your companion mention in your video. I may be just a bit too enthusiast, but overall, good job: )

I think you have better guide. sometime you wrong how to eat. in this video you wrong when you eat sambal. you should mixed sambel first than you put it in rice. the way you do is ruin the real taste. you should have guide to teach the right way to eat. Indonesian food it's not just about taste but also about the sensation when you eat it.

Mark Wiens, if you want to eat the real gudeg Jogja, you must come to Yogyakarta, because gudeg is tradisional food of Jogya. Beside gudeg, we have a Oseng oseng mercon (Super Spicy beef) dan other extreme culinary. You must try sate klathak, that is a lamb grill like a sukiyaki
