Read my blog post about Restaurant Pelikan: my Stockholm travel guide: Day 17: Rome to Stockholm - On Day 17 of our round the world trip for food, we headed to the airport in Rome and flew to Stockholm, Sweden. After arriving and checking into our hotel, we headed a classic Swedish food restaurant to have an amazing dinner that included a reindeer steak and Swedish meatballs. 00: 24 Leaving Rome - We woke up in the morning at our hotel in Rome, and we walked over to the Metro, headed to Termini station, and jumped on the airport bus to the airport. Leonardo da VinciFiumicino Airport in Rome was a little disorganized and the service wasnt very good at all. But luckily we made it on our flight from Rome to Stockholm. 3: 36 SAS flight from Rome to Stockholm - The flight took about 3 hours, and on the flight we were served a lunch box, that included a fusion of Asian and Scandinavian food. We arrived to Stockholm Arlanda Airport, and decided to take the bus from the airport to the area of Stockholm where we were staying, near to Fridhemsplan Station. The Flygbussarna Bus ride costs 119 SEK (13. 93) per person. 7: 00 Check into Courtyard Marriott, Stockholm (Courtyard Stockholm Kungsholmen) - After getting off the bus, we walked over to our hotel and check in. The service and staff were great 10: 21 Pelikan Restaurant - For dinner on our first night in Stockholm I wanted to eat some traditional and delicious Swedish food, and so I chose to go to Pelikan Restaurant, a restaurant many of you had recommended to traditional Swedish food. The restaurant is an absolute classic. To start off our meal, I ordered steak tartare (rabiff, which was an amazing dish, Im still dreaming about it. Then I saw roasted reindeer on the menu and there was nothing I could do to keep myself from ordering it. The reindeer steak turned out to be incredibly delicious, so juicy and so tender. Finally, one of the most popular and well known Swedish foods in the world are Swedish meatballs, and so I also ordered Pelikans Swedish meatballs. They were delicious. Our entire meal at Pelikan restaurant was fantastic

Mark. you know what cream cheese tastes like right. stop playing with us that cant afford to play with these prices. I'm tryin to go back to NYC but, your to expensive to follow. To throw away but, you seem to expansive for US. on a weeks food and extras. even my girls asked if there was a cheaper way. so were going to Instagram it when we go. sorry but, all of your travel's are too much for the regular people trying to see new things. and why do you order Raw food. no one eats it no longer due to the salmonella infections. come on Really. eat what regular folks eat. I believe we need to follow someone who is a regular person like the rest of Us. your too special and expensive for Us most. thanks but, were OUT. You got too much to throw around. Most of Us don't. bye. and my twins are so sad about your mini videos on your travel's but, too expensive and they agree. sorry dude. oh and the amount on what you pay make it known for USA money exchange for the peeps that are going to hang around. it would've been nice. thx tho.

Hi Mark, Im an meatball enthusiast. I will tell you the meatballs you tasted are not swedish custumary meatballs. If you want good meatballs you need to find an old grandmother recipee. Ask people in Sweden, who makes the best meatballs? Everyone will say its their grandmothers. Not to be bold in my culinary skills instead I ask my granny. - I can say the base ingredients are either mixed pork/beef or 100% pork then add bread crumbs egg and 100% cream. Some very finely chopped onions, satuee-. add dijon mustard sometimes (this is more french. most of all, add lots of butter every step salt pepper and sugar is also added at varius steps

I'm born & raised in Stockholm, been to Pelikan several times. Granted, their food is probably above average, but I wouldn't go as far as to say that it's delicious. There are tons of restaurants that are far better in every aspect. If you come back to Stockholm, I'd recommend Wood Stockholm near Slussen at Mose Backe. Their menu is very different to most others, and unlike most restaurants these days they take pride in their occupation and like to try new things. Might need a reservation a few weeks in advance, especially during high season.

NOYing is an uncomely distraction on a food tour given the fact that Mark himself is an ill-informed generalist and not an expert on food though he pretends to be one. Ying backs up as an unpaid servant holding baggage, camera and plates and looking after the baby but her knowledge on food s zero except perhaps for that garbage called Thai food of which she knows something, not gourmand standards, however.

so funny when you said, I will be needing coffee soon lol. Ewww on the tar tar and raw egg. Just ewww. Being American I could live on meatballs, gravy, and creamy mashed potatoes. Uh oh, are you eating Rudolph? The deer does look good. Whoa Look at that bill For that price I bet it was Rudolph. That cost a months supply of groceries. according to our government.

I live in Sweden and Sweden has simply nothing original. Even Swedens meatballs are imported. Thats why Swedes never eat food at home. You can find foreigners that have opened dozens of restaurants with different concepts. Thai, chinese, middle eastern, italian and French (French is luxury food) are common. Especially Italian food is very common. Pizza and pasta

eggjolk makes tartar too mushy, its much better without it, enough with majonaise. meatballs are good but I think brown sauce overpowers the taste of meatballs themselves, I like them without sauce or any jam. potatoe mash and meatballs, litt majones, that's the best. usually meatballs are not very fine in texture, more grainy ones are way better

It would be good showing Ying eat more food. See what she thinks and show her facial expressions. It's good that you like all the food, but for us viewer's. We're not getting a great understanding on what's good, and what's bad. I'm looking forward you trying some food, and you absolutely despising it.

He was so awesome we into the meal he didn't realize that he was using two knives while eating the reindeer. Mark your humility and your diligence makes you well known and I'm glad to be one of those people who enjoy your videos and your travels and you and your wife continue to be blessed
