While working in his way through law school in restaurants, the dean of Robert Bohr's program took notice of his passion for working with wine and the service industry and advised him to quit school and pursue what he really loved. Fast-forward some years later and a few stints as a sommelier at some of New York City's finest restaurants, and Mr. Bohr now runs his own restaurant-Charlie Bird-in SoHo and is one of the most well-respected figures in the wine world. We tagged along for a night out with Mr. Bohr and some of his buddies to see what a group of sommeliers eat and drink on a night out. The first stop was NoMad in the Flatiron for some decadent food to match an impressive wine list. For the occasion, Thomas Pastuzak, wine director at NoMad and good friend of Robert, broke out what Mr. Bohr refers to as the Unicorn Wine. We then head to Brooklyn to meet up with Daniel Kessler at his restaurant Bergen Hill for crudo, cocktails, and white wine. Daniel joins as the guys head around the corner for pizza at Lucali and wine from Robert's secret stash that owner Mark Iacono let's him keep there. (Mark drives a beautiful classic Cadillac convertible, so naturally, they decide to drive back to Charlie Bird for the final meal of the evening) Back at Charlie Bird, head chef Ryan Hardy is hard at work cooking up a feast of Tuscan fried chicken, tortellini, and oysters. To accompany the meal, Robert caps the night by pouring some of his favorite off-menu wines for his favorite people

Well, I have a masters in pretentiousness & a major in BHORing, ah, so do most of my friends. haven't seen pussy in awhile, we tend to focus on circle jerks. Believe we've made some decent contributions in the progressive hipster foodie palate apocalypse that makes this scene a more vibrant although I still am in denial of my role in that scene. overall a good evening, shit that something wine they produced back in the day but stopped producing & then we had it for for dinner was so badass. are we on camera?

I LOVE CHEFS NIGHT OUT but, if these people are just gonna go to overpriced places and eat fried chicken and pizza, why do it. SHOW US SOMETHING NEW, something we've never seen before, and not just your friends place around the corner that gets no play, although I do like the vibe that Lucali's has going on

Diversity is what makes this world great. If it was a bunch of hipsters, the comment section would be filled with people who don't like hipsters. They are doing their own thing and they look happy about it. Let's do our own thing and be happy. No sense in wasting such time judging someone's happiness.

Regular Chef's Night Out: eating ridiculous amounts of incredibly tasty looking food, having fun, crazy drunk people, enjoyable episodes. This week's Chef's Night Out: Couple of bald guys ordering one plate of food for the lot of them and talking about fermented grapejuice. The pizza guy was solid though.

This guy featured on here comes off as such a dislikeable ASSHOLE that I had to leave this comment. Kudos to the pizza chef. Pretentious jerks like this featured guy, however, are exactly why I left new York shitty after 36 years. I am happy to be gone from there!

Dang, is this the gay life I was chasing beyond my means? Ouch. Missing the outing, but not missing the loneliness. =/ -Not sure how I feel about my -old man- life behind me now. This life is best understood how they show it; with great company.

You only have to look at the reviews of the restaurant to know it is a great place. Clearly the owners are very passionate and care a lot about the restaurant. Say what you like, but you have to admire the fact that they deliver.

-When you leave, you don't really know or care or remember what you've eaten or drunk. You know when you leave how good you feel. And that's important. - Puts into perspective what the restaurant experience is really about.

we need action Bronson back. This guy seems cool but I dont think most people can relate to them. Maybe if they all got super high and then went out, it would be more interesting.

I'm barely 19 and don't know what to do with my life. Watching this makes me feel like I want to do what they do. Then again I don't know at the same time how to cook. -----
