The Vegan Ironman Diet of Cro-Mags- John Joseph

John Joseph is a very well-known figure in both the hardcore punk and vegan communities. As lead singer of legendary New York hardcore band Cro-Mags, he's used his status and platform to spread the word about the benefits of plant-based diets and PMA (positive mental attitude. What not a lot of people know about John is that on top of being an active touring musician and author, he also competes in the Ironman triathlons. These brutal tests of endurance consist of a 2. 4-mile swim, a 112-mile bike ride, and a 26. 2-mile run. To say a lot of training and diet go into competing and finishing an Ironman would be an understatement. We follow John as he prepares for an event in Boulder, CO to see what fuels a plant-based endurance athlete under such intense training

Even if I train for 1 or 2 years I'm not certain I can complete a full iron man. I'm 21 and in my prime. Former competitive swimmer, trained mma for 2 years, and constantly doing calisthenics almost everyday. The swim would be fairly easy, but after that I can maybe just barely maybe do a 112 mile bike ride. I don't really see any possible way for me to do a marathon afterwards. I'd be fcking dead.

Ok he's good a guy but when he saids basicly -meat strains the body- maybe for you but others say that some vegetables do strain the body with losing muscle mass have cause a lot of people to quit doing sports and some have fixed them selfs up because by eating more vegetables and fruit and switching meats. You can have both there's no such thing as 1 or the other because of sciences

This guy has a -meat is for pussies- book but like a PUSSY he turns off his YouTube comments! Now us meat eaters, we eat both veggies and meat. Thing is I don-t criticize whatever lifestyle you eat. I don-t force into eating nothing nor insult you don-t eat meat. To each their own. What I don-t like about John or people like him, they try to tell us what to do

As a vegan myself, I find it silly and ridiculous to eat plant based food pretending to be meat- like, why! There are so many amazing, delicious things we can do with veggies in their own state of being. I didn-t become vegan to pretend I-m still a carnivore. idk. Maybe I am alone here, because there sure are TONS of pretend meat alternatives out there.

I never thought of it that way. I struggle eating plant-based because it takes so long to cook good tasting meals but then I think about how much time I-ve wasted waiting in line for pain killers and prednisone and being sick that I could probably spend a quarter of the time I-ve spent waiting just buy prepping my own healthy meals.

10: 10, am a vean myself but i don't want to be pretentious and was gonna dislike this video but that sentence made all the difference. I don't know what life he had lived so can't judge him. If he is staying away from the drug life by being a vegan and doing ironman marathons so be it. Might as well be addicted to that.

How old was he in 1978, cause I can-t see how his age and the years add up. -Now he just said he saw iron man 81 on TV, was that while he was in jail or was sellin Angel Dust and messin with hubs at the same time just NOT that big of a charge back then, -Just honestly curious, cause I do like this guy-s recipes

Love this guy but vegans are always using coconut oil which is very high in saturated fat and terrible for you. It-s great to lead an alternative lifestyle but let-s listen to our medical and health professionals and scientists. Avoid fats that are solid at room temperature!

I went vegetarian in jail, got released right before a huge mexican 4th of july party. What i need is some veggie carne asada, i know spots like good karma in san jose make tofu meat that you cant tell the difference, but carne asada isnt on the menu.

One question. Where does the 300- plus a day minimum spending on all those 15 - smoothies comes from. 99% of people dont have 3+ hr a day to make food and 8 hours to work out. U are just a lucky few % of ppl who can even start thinking about living like that.
