I so badly wanted to love this recipe, and it's made with great stuff, BUT. as far a the crap pasta/cheese/meat comfort food spaghetti pie goes, it really doesn' hold a candle to the possibilities of the spaghetti pie recipe on the now extinct -italian flavor- Velveeta from 25 or so years ago. -But since they don't make that crap anymore, I am tempted to try this one as it's written. if my kids agrre with the view of the results.

I used to make this to use up leftover spaghetti in meat sauce. Just take your leftover spaghetti bolognese and mix with parmesan and scrambled eggs. Place in a sonstick skillet and fry gently like a spanish omelette. Broil or flip and finish cooking. It is my version of frittata di spaghetti. --ETA: Oddle Cholula would go great with this.

Inside-out spaghetti pie
ingredients
1 5 ounce can evaporated milk
1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
1 small onion, chopped (1/3 cup)
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning, crushed
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 pound lean ground beef
4 ounces dried spaghetti
1 tablespoon butter
1 egg, lightly beaten
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 8 ounce can pizza sauce
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 ounces)
directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large bowl, combine evaporated milk, bread crumbs, onion, salt, Italian seasoning, and pepper. Add ground meat; mix well. Lightly press mixture evenly onto the bottom and up the side of an ungreased 9-inch pie plate. Bake, uncovered, about 30 minutes or until done (160 degrees F). Carefully tilt dish and drain off fat.
2. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain. Return to pan. Stir in butter until melted. Stir in egg and Parmesan cheese until spaghetti is coated.
3. Spread half of the pizza sauce over meat mixture. Top with 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese and the spaghetti mixture. Top with the remaining pizza sauce and the remaining 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese.
4. Bake, uncovered, about 20 minutes or until heated through. (If necessary, cover edges of meat mixture with foil to prevent overbrowning.) Let stand for 15 minutes before serving. Makes 6 servings.

I make mine in a loaf pan with leftover spaghetti. I don't bake it, just smoosh it in as tight as it will go, even weight it down. We slice it to fry up for breakfast with eggs, or put it in a sandwich, or whatever. Your recipe looks very rich and tasty. Thanks!

1: I don't really think this qualifies as spaghetti since there's no tomato sauce in there. -2: you didn't want to put the meat in there because it was hot but yet you put extremely hot noodles into there so the eggs got cooked anyways

its like the car-boat idea. Cars are great. Boats are great. Car-boats? - amazing, but are they really? They could be. Not enough competition in the market. Hard to steer. Probably leak a little. --I'm hungry

I have multiple wooden spoons, 2 sizes. -Hot steam bad, be safe. -Kinda looks like Carbonara initially, could just be the lighting though. -I enjoy spaghetti and pies, not sure about the combo.
