I'm from CT and LOVE CT pizza. That being said, I think I've been to all of the -famous- CT pizza (Sally's, Frank's etc) places in these videos and would NEVER choose to go to any of them again. I want a pizza that has been cooked - not burnt. I want a pizza that is a MEAL, not something you have a slice of on the way to a meal. I want cheese oozing when you pick it up. The ooze of cheese should easily fill a fork and be a mouthful. The dough shouldn't be saltine thick, it should be at least an inch thick on the ends! Frankly if I got one of the ashen things in this video, I'd send it back. I understand NYers like it that way but they live in NY - I think that says enough about their judgement. Frankly I'd rather eat a adequate Yorkside pizza over any of the places that are preferred by NYers.

NY caters to non whites lol that's y food sucks in NY. -Bangladesh Moroccan central america south america chinese Korean and every1 else. 15 yrs ago NYC was 46% white. now its 26%. the guys in midtown and wall street dont live in NYC. they all commute 1hr+ each way. no more old school Italians and europeans like in the 80s and 90s and early 2000s. they all moved to other areas to runaway from sanctuary cities. hence the great food in texas arizona etc. red states. Facts not opinion. New Haven is #1 for pizza. NYC lost.

There is something wrong with the 682 people who disliked this video. Frank Pinello is an American culinary hero and makes it OK to like NYC, Detroit, Chicago, Roman, and Neopolitan styles equally without winding people up. A true pizza aficionado. I'll make sure to hop off of the train in New Haven for a night or two and get a Clam A'Pizza the next time I visit the East Coast.

Sorry, I'm from NYC and moved to Connecticut and let me tell you. NYC pizza is leagues better than Connecticut's pizza. Connecticut loves thin crust but they always burn it. I hate thin crust. Pizza in Connecticut is gross and tastes like something I could have made from home. You can't beat that foldable NY slice. Connecticut pizza tastes like a Ritz cracker with topping.

While living in CT for 40yrs, I have been going to Pepes since I was 4yrs old. The most amazing apizza in the country! If you have the chance, I recommend Pepes, and Modern apizza (both in New Haven)for the best overall. Always have to order a 1ltr. bottle of Foxon Park Birch beer with my pizza.

1. 2 million pizzas over 12 years is 100, 000 a year, or 273 pizzas a day, or 11 pizzas an hour if working constantly (365 days a year, 24 hours a day. If we generously assume he only worked 2600 hours in the year, that's 38 pizzas an hour on average, more than one pizza every two minutes.

i like clams on pizza, being a pizza maker for 3 years, this og cat who taught me how to make pizzas showed me this special clam pizza he would make, it was pesto sauce, fresh parmesan cheese, clams, garlic, black pepper and a little olive oil, and it was amazing.
