Los Angeles might not be known as a pizza city, but our host Frank Pinello is ready to show you why it should be. The West Coast doesn't have a set of pizza rules as strict as New York's, so their freedom to experiment with toppings and style translates into delicious and unique pizza. From BBQ chicken pizza at California Pizza Kitchen to smoked salmon pizza at Spago, California pizza is all about the toppings. Los Angeles' food scene is diverse and delicious-and so is its pizza

This generations coming to the pizzeria thing reminded me of a personal anecdote: Ever since I was a small child, our family would go to the same pizzeria close to where we lived. And there was something special about it. It was the only pizzeria I ever heard of that had a 'Pizza Banana'. It was pizza with banana slices and ham. And boy, it was awesome. I was wondering, 'who else would eat this'? But I didn't eat anything else. I wouldn't even take a look at the menu, it would be Pizza Banana anyway. For years. --Time went on, and somehow we didn't go there for a couple of years. One day we decided to go to the pizzeria again. But this time. I made a different choice. Waitress comes, asks what we want to order. I say 'Pizza Cipolla please'. She looks at me, and then with a certain sense of mockery she asks 'No Pizza Banana? '--Eventually I moved away from home, and haven't been to the place for years now. A while ago I checked them out on the web and found they took Pizza Banana from the menu. Numbers now go 9, 10, 12. Oh well, but this was some good stuff.

California isn-t known for Pizza, we don-t have much of a Italian population in the Bay Area. I wouldn-t go to NY/East Coast and look for authentic Mexican taco/burritos. and if I-d find some I wouldn-t bad-mouth them, every one can add their twist on any dish. I wonder how many new dishes haven-t been invented because of fear of people being so stuck in their ways. Or maybe their stubbornness as to what is good is a way to preserve a good taste and flavor profile so we don-t lose it for the future generations. I should get back to work lol

Like a car wreck I had to look. L. A. pizza? -Col. Slade in Scent Of A Woman said that the water west of the Colorado is too alkaline. In reference to the rolls. The bread. To baking. -That's why I heard of a Cali pizza place shipping all it's water from NYC. Makes sense. That way it's better and more authentic true Italian neapolitan style pizza. -Cali has the tomatoes for sure. (But so does Jersey) But not the water. -But that pie at 19 minutes looks like the real deal. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Casa Bianca is my favorite pizza in the greater LA area. If you live within driving distance and haven't been there you gotta go. If you don't live around here and are from out of state or out of the area and come to LA for a visit you must go there. It's amazing pizza. I have been coming there for 20 years now and I wish I discovered it before that. I've seen Ned and his sister working there since I started coming there and they have been working for years before I started going.

3 famous Austrians in this video: Wolfgang Puck (Austrian) pours Schlumberger Sparkling (Austrian Champagne) in the glass and then (the highlight) one of the guys at Delicous Pizza has a can of Salzburger Stieglbier in front of him. This brewery was established in 1492! Some may remember that date!

Hum. not sure about the thin crust at the last place. very thin. doesn't mean its not good. but pizzas that thin are usually about the toppings. where for me a pizza is about the bread. reserving judgement until I get a chance to try it. assuming they made it through the Covid apocalypse.

Dude! I was about to blow up this video if you didn-t hit Casa Bianca! I-m so happy you ended there. Born and raised in Hollywood, and I can tell ya, Casa Bianca is the best pizza in L. A. Glad you liked it! Great show. Let me know when you come to Hawaii! I got a couple spots for ya!

Living in LA, i was hoping this episode could bring to light some good spots to check out. California Pizza Kitchen? Spago? Pizzanista? was all you could come up with? I already know pizza places better than these. Unfortunately, the spot mentioned in the beginning of the episode is closed.

Frankie P is the man and I can't wait to get to Best however, I couldn't get past the gaping asshole in the Indiana Jones hat. Not sure what he was going for but it's arguably the most pretentious, ridiculous thing I've seen in a long time. And I work in Cambridge, MA. What a donkey! LOL

Lol that comment Pauli made about ranch dressing is so true, when I heard people used ranch as a dipping sauce I was confused, we only put it on salads! 10 years later now living in Vegas, I eat finger foods with nothing but ranch and hot sauce.
