Funny her question about food influence. though there has been large amounts of culture and gene flow in the last few thousand years. the original peoples of ancestry that the Uyghur are descended from. at first he described the food as -Turkish- but then corrected himself, -Turkish food is the westernized version of Uyghur food. - Let that soak in, there are several recent papers in population genetics that have illuminated the gene flow in the region going back over 30, 000 years and it is very clear that the Central Asian region was essentially a cultural and genetic refugia for tens of thousands of years. it is the ancestors of these Central Asian people in general that moved North East and became the Mongels, moved east and became Chinese, moved west and became Turks, moved north west and became Ukranians, Huns. etc. They are that close to ancestral as human lineages go.

I lived in China for 6 years and have traveled through Xinjiang and I've never heard it pronounced like this. I always heard WEE-GUR. I assume the dude from Kashgar knows that right way though, so that's weird. --The best food in China. It's terrible the way the Uyghur people are treated. You walk through the cities in Xinjiang and all the people look more middle eastern than Chinese, but if you look in a bank or any kind of proper place of business you will only see employees from the majority Chinese ethnicities. Most job listings read Uyghurs don't apply. In Beijing, gas stations won't sell them gas because there is an assumption they will use it for a terrorist attack. --Love this show, and I love Japanese Breakfast and Little Big League!

i disagree with her saying uyghurs are from northwestern china there are a lot who want their own state and prefer to call where they are from east turkmenistan or Uyghuristan instead of northwestern china as it implies china owns that land and it belongs to them only china as also marginalized their language and are trying to replace it with Mandarin tearing down old buildings in old uyghur cities banned the name mohammed and was imprisoned a lot of the uyghur people in concentration camps and maintains a military presence in some uyghur cites and even forcing some uyghurs to pork on ramadan that was a real story they even use pork as torture in concentration camps according to prisoners that have escaped

This is a great video. For those of you who don't know, the Chinese government is placing Uighurs (who live in Xinjiang province) into what are essentially concentration/labor/re-education camps. It is one of the largest cultural cleansings the world as ever seen, and the West turns a blind eye. The majority Han-Chinese government has done this before; they categorize all Chinese into one group, when really it is one of the most ethnically diverse nations in the world. Many Chinese will deny this is happening, but there is sufficient evidence from global news agencies and freelance journalists as well. This is truth.

When she hits her 30's she'll realize that she scribbled all over herself and she's going to have to make a lot of concessions to cover all that shit up with something of any artistic value. I wouldn't even know where to begin with the rando minefield that is her left arm. It's like she bought the cheapest machine off the internet, carries it in her purse and just gets kitchen tattoos at 4am by whomever she was taking Molly with at the time. -For her sake, I hope she also keeps a bottle of rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide around for some level of sanitation. Those tattoos just scream hepatitis.

Millions of Ughurs in China are in assimilation camps. Just like they did in Tibet, Chinese wants to assimilate them and replace them with the Han Chinese. Unfortunately most of the Turkic and Islamic world are ignoring this because China is seen as too powerful. We don't need iPhones made in China, we can easily make them in the USA. It's about time we stopped supporting a dangerous super power that threatens the US supremacy.

Your map of Asia at 0: 26 is incorrect - You have Jammu and Kashmir completely within Pakistan borders. Jammu and Kashmir is disputed territory claimed by both India and Pakistan. The actual line of control between Pakistan and India is in Kashmir and Jammu is wholly within India. Aksai Chin is also controlled by China, not Pakistan. Please correct it.

There are 56 ethnic groups in China all of them are Chinese citizens with equal rights. Just because Uyghur people are a minority does not mean they have more or less rights compare to others. From reading some of the comments here, some try to start a fight or instigate things. You looking for injustice? Go knock on America or the British door first.

Contribute a little to save the world. Together WE CAN CHANGE. --And in fact CERAMIC or STEEL cutlery look more elegant compared to these cheap-looking plastic ones.

I used to work on this joint. They have a stall on the flushing food court. The best part about working on this restaurant was free food which was the best I have ever had. They had a special rice dish with raisins I used to eat a full container of it every hour. Damn, those were the days
