Good episode, just that when I always thought of Argentine vermouth it was always Gancia (white) that came to mind not red. Here in the US red is sweet white dry in Gancia is a sweet white, also great in a Gancia Batido. Also mollejas are a cow's thymus glands not gizzards, because chicken gizzards are mollejas de pollo(which I never ate or saw there). For tourists I do not recommend going to La Boca, not just as a River Plate fan but because besides Caminito which is a tourist trap, it is very unsafe and part of the -half moon (croissant) of death- which starts in La Boca and goes to the Riachuelo out west by la villa 1-11-14. It's really cool to see an american speaking spanish with an accent and everything. It wasn't until maybe halfway into the video I said 'wait one second, is she american? ' It's inspiring me to try to use the spanish i learned in school and not be too worried about it. Spanish is just one of those languages I guess where it seems like everyone is native speaker type fluent so it can feel daunting to give it a go speaking with people. Muchas gracias de Nueva York!

Notice that the blurred coca-cola sign outside Don Carlos is black and white and not the normal red and white? The reason for this is that this is in the Boca district where the football club Boca Juniors come from. Their arch rival and bitter enemy is River Plate who wears the color red/white. So the red/white is banned in the whole boca district!

There is no such thing as autonomous argentinian food, unless you go to the north. Pretty much everything we eat is directly influenced or inspired by Italian food, spanish food, and also some traditions made during the colonial times.

Choripan uuuuhhhhhh the one thing I can't get in Hawaii. Used to buy them at a bodega in San Francisco near Ocean Beach. Chorizo here all taste like -portuguese sausage-. I took that lightly living/visiting anywhere else in the world
