I love her. I-m Korean American but my mom never taught me how to cook any food. I started teaching myself how to cook at 18 but I focused on learning mostly non Korean dishes. For any Korean dishes I want to make, Maangchi is my go to reference. Her recipes taste like how my mom or grandma would make the dish. And she-s one of the only reliable Korean cooks out there that have easily accessible recipes translated to English.

Which kind of Mushroom would you recommend to substitute for the meat? I damn well am not vegetarian, but I want to know which specific mushroom you recommend please, in case I have to cook for them damn Vegan fools. By the way, this video is locked in my head like abc, 123. Is there Korean Bento? I've never been to a train station in Korea? Just Japan.

Maangchi, you are absolutely adorable. I used your videos to have a huge Korean bbq at my tiny kitchen table. We had 10 people crammed around the table and more people kept coming, people were sharing chairs and sharing plates. It sounds bad but it was a blast. No one wanted to miss out. Thank you for your videos!

I lived in Seoul and would go out many times with my girlfriend & friends to eat Bulgogi at little family run restaurants but instead of lettuce it is served Traditionally with Perilla leaves (kkaennip. They look like big hand sized mint leaves and they have a slight Anise taste.

Vice. you edited out the best part, where she stuffs an ungodly amount of food in her mouth! We saw the chewing but we didn't see the insertion. That is the most horrifying part. I hate it and yet I can't look away.

Or you could boil soy sauce and garlic and scallion and a Apple and add some sugar and boil it for 10 minuets let it cool and pour it into your meat and let it marinade for ever.

This lady has literally changed my life. Was in South Korea for work recently and our host couldn't believe how much I knew about Korean food. It's all from Maangchi!
