Meyhem Lauren flexes his culinary talents by making wasabi crab mac and cheese in Munchies Test Kitchen. This recipe, inspired by a sushi craving, begins by whisking together wasabi paste, butter, flour, and milk in a pot. Meyhem then brings a large pot of water to boil and cooks the pasta shells. Next, he returns to the sauce base and whisks in Asiago and sharp white cheddar cheese. After draining the shells, Meyhem assembles the dish by layering the pasta and lump crab meat into a casserole dish and seasons it with Old Bay. Then, he evenly pours the cheese sauce over the pasta and crab and places the dish in the oven for 25 minutes. Meyhem adds another layer of cheese, both panko and regular bread crumbs, and returns the dish to the oven for a final 10 minutes. When finished, Meyhem admires his cheesy seafood creation, which he believes could end (or start) a war

I make similar stuff like this in Japan, add it's a kind of fusion of Japanese and British food. I usually make -Salaryman Pie-, which is a base of something like Japanese curry sauce with beef (or Japanese beef stew, etc) and then either mashed Japanese sweet potatoes or -satoimo- (small Japanese yams/potato-like things. I've made pasta-bakes with Japanese ingredients, but in the UK, instead of bread crumbs, some of us use crushed-up crisps (or -potato chips- to the Yanks. --Anyway, my Japanese girlfriend and I are going to make this recipe of yours ASAP! Cheers!

Love this guy. Every time munchies kills me with the heavy fat/calorie or just over price this guy shows stuff I would make on or just after a holiday, which is when I actually cook and don't just pretend I'm going to and will actually toss in that extra on fancy ingredients. So what's cool to see is returning chefs cut out a really reliable and distinctive niche. Just wish I had any relatives who could handle wasabi.

HOW am I just now discovering this gem of a man? This is the type of step by step I can follow. No fanciness from your -culinary travels-. Just an excitement to get in there and create some shit. That's my approach to cooking.

dude couldn-t try any harder, also if you-re topping with cheese & bread crumbs after already baking it for sometime just throw it in the broiler so you-ll cook the top. Continuing to cook the whole dish will make it dry.

I missed this man so much, occasionally I go back to his Eat Like a Local vid just to see how someone tame a jungle lined with neon and concrete, this man is a statement, keep up the good work

You gotta melt some butter, throw in some garlic and throw the bread crumbs in there until it absorbs all the butter. instead of throwing some dry ass bread crumbs on top lol

Where have I been, I have never seen him before. I like him, he is extra but not too much. He can cook in my kitchen anytime. Use my pots, pans, knifes and everything!

Damn I hate meyhem. He's just ass. Definitely in the minority here, but can't stand him talking and don't think he's funny in any sense or entertaining.

- At the end of the day, everything always goes right back to the corner -. That probably went right over a lot of people-s heads. Ahaha love this guy.

I was so hesitant to try this because I thought the wasabi would offset the other flavors, but it was delicious, and I highly recommend this recipe!
