Though nearly a year old, this video was just recommended to me tonight. Looks fabulous. I plan to make it. I will make one change, though. When I make French Onion soup I always use half Gruyere and half Emmental. Will do the same for the sandwich. I will add the dried thyme even though that never goes into my Onion Soup.

Sam. lets talk about the cheese in this sandwich. French onion soup almost always has Gruyere cheese. a French cheese thats extremely melts. Swiss cheese is a little different. Its not as stretchy as gruyere is. Regardless. that looked hella good dude.

That sandwich looks incredibly tasty. That being said, it stopped being a grilled cheese sandwich the moment he put the French Onion soup and roast beef on it. It's a French onion and roast beef sandwich. It does look very yummy though.

I get to move back with my parents soon and this is the first thing I'm cooking for my dad when my mom is on one of her trips, she'd probably like it too but she schedules all her meals so. yeah. thanks for this. Hes going to love it
