Choosing a subject for painting, or any artwork can be a difficult task but if you just let it come naturally and paint what you're interested in, it can be quite simple thedarkleo19: All my art is story to be told. Many of my art works were cater to people tastes. That can be very hard to do. At same time an artist should put their stamp of self on their work. So paint something for a person that they want to get lost in your art. I just did target goal by listen and watching for what they wanted. Just picture person that rush up to you and said my life depends on your painting. Act like your saving a life and just do it. My best work has came from being rush.

That cloud painting you held up was especially outstanding!
Personally, I don't think beginners should start out painting portraits. They are especially challenging and might discourage an artist with potential. I'd work up to that once the painter becomes more comfortable with color mixing, blending and even just the drawing skills. Just my opinion: )

May I take a clip of this video and use it in one of my educational videos? Your speaking is clear and you have a great pace. Many of my students who study English with me are artists.
