How to Paint a Horse Portrait - Acrylic Painting Lesson SchaeferArt Cathy: I love your video. You do a great job. You seemed to answer every question that popped into my head. Eg. the sketched lines looked hidden, but you obviously could see them, and then painting the background and working in layers. It all makes sense, and you speak clearly. I always avoided painting darks where light might go, but it works, and definitely makes the painting easier as you go along. Thank you.
One question, you mentioned that this shouldn't be your first piece to paint. What types of paintings do you recommend to start with?

This is amazing. I've been painting (birds) for a few months and feel I'm improving with a lot to learn, but I have sold a few canvases. I just tried my first horse head portrait and now I'm trying to watch tutorials (after the fact of course) to try to learn and fix errors and see how to improve. Horses are very challenging!
This video is excellent and clear, thank you so much.

Hi there kindly help me ouf with the confusion that i have i my head. i find acrylics more practical to use as i have little kids around. li ku e you said they dry out easily. but the people and and many other artists do not consider acrylics as a mature and a professional medium. is this true? Are acrylics a medium for only tge beginners?

One of the key aspects of painting not talked about enough is when to Stop painting. At the 5: 00 minute mark the painting is in is basic form. I always like to paint along with a video and think what would I do next. Of course every painter and painting is different. That is what makes art! Thanks for this Awesome tutorial!

I am so glad that I fell upon your videos. I have been painting for years in watercolor, but now am trying acrylics. Your videos are really detailed in how you explain everything, which is awesome. Keep up the good work. I love the horses.
