What if you could set up a mirror beside the painting, tilted towards the palette so the camera can see them both? It's style is very similar to buck paulsons style. when you watch him you kinda make faces cause it looks awful then boom it's an amazing painting. He does it this way then adds details with oils. very interesting style. I like watching many styles and learning these views gives me more creative ideas. I also find that I like small canvas over larger and will use them from now on.

that was amazing. I wasn't sure I liked it till it was complete but it really came together. I am working on one of your paintings right now and I have so many layers on it because I can't the highlights just right. I am trying to use just the 4 colors plus white as you suggest but i just am not getting the colors you do. Also what is the difference in titanium white of blanc white.

I would like to thank you for the tons of information you give while painting. I watch a lot of videos and, so far, I never saw anybody talking and talking and explaining details, telling so much about their own methods or personal approach, points of view. I feel like you are really trying to explain and show all you know or think. It's quite personal of you. Congrats!

You totally amazed me. at first it looked like tou were just smearing paint then all of a sudden you had a master piece. I am struggling with my boat painting at the moment. I dont know how to get my color straight. I know its not a true white. I just cant find my tone. any ideas? The boat is on the ocean. ugh HELP!

Hard to believe I'm still getting comments about my comment from a year ago. This -social media- thing is really strange. Look everyone I told him thanks for his art, what'a you want? Concentrate on his art not my opinion. If you all are painters. paint. Don't worry so much you'll be healthier.

Hey, thanks for responding. Um, yours don't look like a photograph either, far from it actually, but I do appreciate your style. Anyway, thanks for the art. If more people did art it would be a better place, don't you think? Will.

Glad to see you're doing commentaries to some of my favorites from your 30 Day Painting Challenge. Loved the water reflections especially on this one. Lots of good tips! Can't wait to get my bottle of glazing medium!

great lesson
but you said you had a photo to go from, so i think it would have been great to see it at the very beginning, so we have some idea of what it is that you are painting. (or did i miss that bit?
cheers

Thank you for your tips and your videos. I have been painting off and on for years however I have learned a few things from you that I had not seen or thought of. Thank you very much for sharing. :)

Thanks for sharing your painting- not to my taste but, as you say, we've all gotta find our own style! Check out Will Kemp Art for a more classical, painterly look.
