Scott Flanders continues his Swamp Thing series with a pulp impressionism sculpture using Aves Apoxie Sculpt. He gives you a bunch of tips and tricks on approaching it and avoiding disaster. Scott does a really thorough demo about building an armature to support the characters and setup the pose before applying the clay. See why a butter knife is his favorite tool. Stay tuned for Part 3 when he does an oil painting of Swamp Thing

Awesome. Thank you for the inspiration and information. Thinking I need to try to sculpt! Next level stuff, but Mr. Flanders you have me thinking along new paths. Thank you. And along those lines, Stan? Are you sculpting? I'm getting a vibe that may be your next forte! I find it interesting that the artists I follow on YouTube also follow/know/associate with each other. Great minds? Could it be akin to the cafe scene in Paris in 1880-1900 (ish) where all the influential artists/writers/et. al. congregated? Except this is global, and essentially instant. No waiting to see what the bourgeoisie are up to these days! Cheers.

Hi I created my own special kneadable sculpting wax, great for sculpting and carving depending on how you use it can be used warm like clay cold like hard wax. Taken me 3 years to develop this wax. If you're interested I can send you a sample. It's very similar to Adam Beane's CX5 that isn't on the market anymore unfortunately. Good luck sculpting thanks for the tutorial.

So basically that was the blockin/rough/sketch phase before beginning to carve the details?
Now I'm really motivated to sculpt a beautiful girl! .that would probably be really difficult, right?

My problem with apoxie sculpt and sculpey is that I have arthritis in my wrists and they hurt really badly when I try to meld the product. -
So I use monster clay based on that reason alone.

For my fellow non-Americans, 3 feet are roughly 91, 5 cm.
which means the foot is ca. shoe size 46-47 in German sizes. Lol, must be someone really tall or a clown.

Nice work, but are you sure you should be kneading and working that material with your bare hands? I'd be careful doing that.
