You never mention the fragrance? Do any of those you tasted actually have a heady fragrance?
I normal one I grow here a bit north of Brisbane in Queensland Australia is a very dark purple flesh but a huge fruit. But it has at least as much fragrance as it does flavour.
The fragrance is almost musky and the taste is very sweet and quite strong. I wouldn't say there are any of the background flavours you mentioned like grape, melon, etc. Just plain sweet but strongly scented and flavoured.

I hope people at home know that the ones on the mainland that you can buy at the grocery store are much different than if you can buy them where they're grown. The fruit only has a shelf life of 3 days so to stock grocery stores they're picked super premature and then preserved, so there's barely any flavour. If you get a chance to try them where they're actually grown it's a world of difference!

It's ecuadorian palora. I have it in my garden too. I have physical grafitti and the one you have shown does not look like one. The flesh is more purplish color not as deep red as what you have shown and the shape is different. Anyway, i love dragon fruit so I planted 16 varieties in my garden incl sugar dragon, delight too and another yellow variety, the australian golden yellow.

Wish you would have used 2 separate knives, would have liked to see both white togethet dragonfruit together to make a color comparison between the two. However I really enjoyed this video, helpes me know what to expect when my fruit matures.

I'm growing a red-fleshed one but I don't know what variety I'll just have to wait when it fruits. I want to grow Palora but one cutting is soooo expensive in my country. I've got my cuttings for free!

Yummy delish! I love dragon fruit but Ive only tasted the one with white flesh that you get in the grocery store. it tastes like a bland kiwi/melon but I love the mild flavor and crunchy seeds!

Terrible video. The lack of foresight to cut the red ones first and move through the white ones. How can this taste test be taken seriously? Washing a knife must be hard.
