My own dear brother lives in San Diego. I miss him. I love that you love grow bags too. I'm growing in grow bags in an apartment and literally everything I'm growing in grow bags are doing better in the grow bags than they have in the containers. I have seen that in the grow bags too. I've even used a woven basket and planted beets. They came up fast. Woven baskets use to be used in ancient times because you could move them around and I live in town. In an apartment. I am inspiring I guess because I have a neighbor who says she loves our garden. I like Doller Tree having at least at the beginning of the season they offered 10 lb grow bags. You can roll down the sides.

Wow that huge grow bag is great, Ive never seen them before, I wonder if they come in a rectangular shape, with a slightly less capacity. As someone who lives in rental houses and ends up moving every 5 years or so this would be great. I have a good selection of pots, but it would be nice to plant some things together and use as a border on the patio or lawn for flowers or veg, then it could easily be moved to the greenhouse over winter or covered. Thanks for the great videos

You mentioned putting growbags in a container to hold water, what about putting a container to hold water inside the growbag?
I plan on using growbags for the first time this year experimenting with using a plastic dish- specifically reused 9 round, 1 deep take out food containers - thinking this will allow a drainage buffer, keeping about 4 cups of water soaked soil from fully draining being able to wick up water to the plant over a longer period of time.

lol. I have 2 100 Gal grow bag's. I use for Squash plants. They do dry out faster so that is a good tip about making a bath tub for the bag's to get water. I have had to water my grow bag's twice a day when hot out side. This year I put some Soil Most Granules in my plating hole to help keep water at the root's and I add a little more co co coir to help out. Live and learn.

I need to plant swiss chard in a container. so it will have to be a longer rectangular planter, which these bags aren't available in. I wanted to plant it in plastic planters used for flowers but read online that the plastic could be bad to plant vegetables in due to perhaps the plastic leaching toxin into the soil. is that true or would it be safe?

I am in CT.
Curious to know if perennials like Various Black Red Blue berries can work in a grow bag. or. will, over time, the roots will get woody and burst out. I know from another video the a Lemon tree have woven it's self into the bag. It wasn't pretty. I would winter them in the garage and just give a tad of water in the winter.

It seems these bags do somewhat stunt the growth of plants as compared to the ground itself. I transplanted some squash which I started from seed and thought I would try 20 gallon bags. I also gave a few of my transplants to my neighbor, and his (in the ground) have exploded. Mine, in 20 gallon bags are growing but way behind his.

I made grow bags out of professional heave duty weed fabric I had laying around. I guess I should have tested it first. They are not allowing water to soak up into bag. Took a sample to my bathroom and poured water on it and the water just pools on the top of the fabric. But I held it up to my mouth and it is totally breathable.

I stopped using the little riser platforms under my grow bags for this exact reason. It seemed like the soil wasn't getting a good soak unless I watered enough for there to be some wick action taking place for a couple hours. Any longer than that I get worried about the possibility of root rot or something.

My grow bags have perennials in them ( eggplant and peppers) that I overwinter zone 9b but the bags are getting mossy/ algae on the outside. What should I do if anything? Does it hurt the plants? Can I spray the outside with hydrogen peroxide? Would that hurt the plants/ soil/ earthworms in the bag?

I currently have three 1 gallon/hour drip emitters for the single plant in each 10 gallon bag. However the soil in the grow bags is only wet right under the drip irrigation heads but is bone dry everywhere else. How many drip irrigation emitters would you recommend per 10 gallon bag?

Are grow bags good for organic gardening? Ive been stuck in my head trying to figure out what container wont leach any junk into my soil, since the reason I want to garden is to have healthier produce. Im surprised how hard it is to find a trustworthy answer on this.

Farmers almanac suggests making a reservoir out of a pop bottle and burying it. Leave the lid on and perforate with holes. Turn upside down and cut the bottom off. Bury to rim of bottle. Fill when needed. Theres a terra cotta version of this with a Spanish name.

Grow bags have definitely made growing food more accessible to me. This is a fantastic tool for people who rent, have limited space, need to move plants inside during the winter without uprooting them, or have physical issues with being on the ground.

My grow bags have become kind of compacted now and I have a ton! Some plants are okay and others arent that great! They seem to be slow growing! My radishes are stringy and pushed themselves up out of the soil. What can I do to amend or fix it!
