Stuck Alone in Snow Storm Overnight Building Log Cabin Railgap: I was a fairly outdoorsy kid at this age, but I was scatter-brained with too many interests, so I could never have achieved a single great project requiring years of persistence. Ergo, I am in awe of the single-minded tenacity this kid is demonstrating. Steady, thoughtful work, not rushed, but seldom stopping and working long days, one day at time, until amazing things take shape. Sure, it doesn't hurt to have land, and the money for materials and nice tools, and neighbors with a sawmill, and family with tractors and forklifts. none of which takes away from the sheer manual labor being performed almost entirely by one very determined, patient young man who isn't afraid to be sore at the end of a day.

Man Ive been following you for a couple of weeks now. Your one very smart young man. To build a cabin like the one your building takes a lot of will power. To chop on one board a half a day with a hatchet. These companies should give you any tool you need. But taking a bath in 6 of snow come on you couldnt stunk. Glad I live in south US. Good luck with you cabin. Ill keep watching these videos to see how your coming along.

Everything is as in the army
according to the schedule: sleep
work, dinner, but l didn't, 't see what
you ate, the water treatments showed me that the water was warm because it didn't freeze, it must be a warm spring, cool.

On a cold snowy morning like that: I'd have stayed in my tent next to the wood stove. This guy sheds all of his layers and jumps into the cold water with nothing on but his birthday suit! That's one way to embrace nature!

Most of us in our early 20s wasting so much time and effort trying to find ourselves or our path in the world and me watching these videos realizing there were so many other paths that would have been better for me.

What is your diet like? You must have to eat 10, 000 calories to recoup your strength after a long day of hard work and swimming in ice cold water. Bet you eat a whole elk every day. Please tell us

Don't have to worry about snakes and alligators or mosquitoes. Dang fine work sir. Quality that will last along time. You must have had some mighty good upbringing and teachers. Greetings from NC USA

I don't know which one I need more courage; to live alone OR wash in a winter snow lake, brrrrrrrrrr. Erik, set up a hot tub by the lake plz! (just for me lol) Strong health you have, good for you!

I myself chopped log cabins and dragged logs, but the fact that you manually cut down logs on the pediment in bad weather is a separate type of sadomasochism: )

Never sleep next to the woodstove when its burning overnight. It could possibly burn your sleeping bag, or in worst case scenarios burn down that entire Tent.

Erik - if was ever trapped in the wilderness I would want to be with you! I'd get us out of a burning theater, but you'd keep us from freezing to death!

Aw sweet! You got a cat! I was wondering in the previous videos why there wasn't a cat. Glad to see you got that orange fellow! Cats love nature hikes!

If my dad were alive he would have loved your videos. He was very much like you. You have shown me a lot of good things I can use. Thank you so much.

all your hard work on the log cabin is very impressive. but bathing nakey in that freezing creek is the thing that made me believe you're super human.
reply

Fantastic work but there when you were shaping those big logs to the roof profile there must have been times when you wished for a chainsaw?
reply

Wondering why it was important to build such an elaborate dugout project after completing his major project of the log cabin.
reply

I thought that You will continue building in old style. This plastic membran on the roof kills 3 houers watching.
reply

Wait a minute! Youre not alone and dont think the forefathers were as equipped as you with insulation board, etc.
reply

here i was thinking youre a real man. but nooo, turns out youre actually a damn polar bear in human form -. -
reply

every hour this guy is with an animal. and by the footage there is another person. I think everything is fake.
reply

Please, someone explain how he has entered in the river with that weather. I saw it, but I can't believe it.
reply

The cabin is impressive and all, but skinny dipping in that river while snowing, damn! That's hardcore.
reply

Trimming those access logs off the front and back ends of the roof wouldve been a lot easier with a chainsaw
reply

god erik how can u get into that water and bathe it must be -- i dont know degrees i would definetly die?
