Trying Out Native Bees Garden Answer Sansa: Oo Native Bees, Mason Bees. I might be able to do the Mason bees in my area! Do you have to do the leaf cutters with the Mason bees? Amazing how fast the leaf cutter bees popped out!
Honeybees actually have a basket on the back leg Laura, that's where they store the honey. (Heh I've spent far too much of my time researching Honeybees. Oy Vey) I want to have honeybees myself maybe one day.
I love bees, so beautiful to watch them. Thank you Laura. Excellent episode!

Thank you so much for this video! The project my garden club (Chinden Gardeners) in Garden City worked on last year was to have Garden City become the first Bee City in Idaho! Our current project is creating a Pollinator and Bee Habitat along the Boise River behind the City Hall/Library in Garden City. We have a member of the club who is an 'expert' on the Mason bee and has gotten us all involved with anything relating to bees so I loved seeing you talk about the bees!

This looks so awesome and fun! I have never in my life considered having bees until now. I had no idea that this small-scale bee house existed. This could be a fun exercise for kids too. I have a niece and nephew who are terrified of bees (neither is allergic) and I'd love to have them see something like this!

This is simple and adorable. I put up an insect box this spring. I noticed some of the ends of the tubes have been sealed over but have no idea what did it. Just hope it wasn't wasps. My box has rooms for all kinds of beneficial insects but I have not seen any live ones yet.

I've been trying to attract bees to my garden all summer! I bought flowers, let the clover grow, and NOTHING! I have a couple of bees, and a couple of faithful Bumble bee buddies, but that's it. Thanks so much!

We have beautiful blue banded bees that visit during spring and summer. I think they live in trees though so not sure if I can make a house for them. We do have tiny native bees too though.

Remember that there are thousands of species of native bees that aren't covered here, and remember that honeybees can actually be detrimental to native bee populations.

I am so worried about the bees dying g out. This is a great project for kids to watch the cycle and learn that bees are imperative to our existence.

I have cutter bees and they plug up my fountains, because I turn my fountains off at night, and they stuff the leaves in the spout.

I have been considering bees as well, this was an awesome video! Great information. Can't wait for the warmer months to order my own!
