My Kitchen Garden Plan Garden Answer Rebecca: Laura and Aaron,
Really nice video, but I wanted to add a comment about your black fence. If you haven't committed to the project, I would recommend you check out HDPE fencing. One of the suppliers is Derby Fencing; they actually make this product. My husband and I have been looking at fencing product and wanted black. so many have tried to talk us out of it due to maintenance and black will turn white in the hot sun in a relatively short period of time. (we were told; even the new vinyls. Some companies won't even sell back in vinyl. HDPE has NO MAINTENANCE. NONE. I don't know if they have pickets, we're looking at rail (like your current white fence. Anyway, just wanted to share this information; hope it helps.

I like to plant Marigolds throughout my veggie garden as they are a natural pesticide, the darker the color the better. I also put in some Echinacea as it draws bees. Companion planting is always a part of my plan too. For instance tomatoes love basil planted next to them. I plant chamomile also as it's known as the plant doctor. If you have a plant that is struggling, dig up a bit of chamomile and plant it next to it. You will be amazed! Once or twice a season I also release 1500 ladybugs as they are great for pest control. In the center of it I put a bench so I can sit and enjoy everything! I also put a bird bath for a little water element and watch the birds play: )

Omg I love this! I am going to be starting to plan my food garden for (hopefully) next year, I will definitely check out this program thank you! I am working on cleaning the area out for doing the garden next year, I am super excited for it, and especially to amp up my food garden production, its not a huge space but it is decent sized and if I can get the retaining wall done next spring I will have the perfect area for growing food.
I will have to measure the space and write it down so I can play around with this program: D

Love this site! I had a fun small garden last summer, wow did I work hard. This year I would love to have raised beds with walk paths in-between. I wounder what do you plan to use for your walk paths? Are you going to use stone, grass, brick, or bark? Also do you know of a site where a person can plan their flower beds? How nice that would be!

If you plant more than you can use or veggies you might not like, donate it to your food bank( check if they have cold storage at their location as some food banks only offer dry pantry goods) They really appreciate donations of quality fresh produce and fruit that they would otherwise have to pull cash donations to purchase.

I was so excited to find this tool, only to realize that the Design your own feature is down (according to the company, they don't know when it will be back up and running) and the Edit feature on the Pre-Planned tool is not functioning either. I'm so bummed. Any recommendations on another website with a tool that is similar?

Laura, This looks awesome. Have been wanting to find something simple and easy. This website looks like it. Was wondering though, as I do research for my vegetable garden, if the plans take into consideration the heavy feeders and bunch those together? Does it really matter or is it more for the years that follow? Thanks: )

this is really great! I am going to plant a vegetable garden this year, last year I just did an herb garden. The florida heat is so brutal. I think I'll do a small raised garden bed and see how it goes. Thank you for sharing the Garden Supply information, I will be using that!

For the middle- perhaps a statue of Demeter, goddess of the harvest? Since you already have a statue of Hestia (home and hearth, a fountain of Hebe (youth and vitality, and a head planter of Hermes (commerce and messages. Why not keep with the greek theme?
