Looks beautiful! Im watching this 2 years later and know what it looks like as it has matured and this was such a great decision. If I started lavender from seed and have very small young plants should I just keep potting them until they reach a similar size to what youre planting out? Or is it safe to plant it out in the landscape and let it establish its root system in the ground where it will be?

Luv these garden tips Laura, Aaron and Benjamin. Keep up the good work. The Perry's in zone 7, they tell us. high desert, too. 100 and above to 108 one month or 1 1/2 months this year. can go to 17 degrees in the winter. Rarely snows though, but once in awhile we get a surprise of the white glistening stuff. Praying for your friend with the breast cancer. how is she doing?

You mention that you live in a very hot area. Can you give me some pointers on dealing with high heat conditions. I live in zone 9, sunset zone 14 with summer heat up to 90 to 100 degrees. Information listed talks only about full sun, part sun, but most often they say nothing about heat. They list drought tolerance, but rarely heat tolerance.

I have really hard clay soil. I double dug the soil, added lots of amendments, put a 2 inch layer of sand in the trench, backfilled with miracle grow garden soil and my amended soil. Planted my lavender in a row. It rained and rained and rained and they just drowned. Guess I will try again in a raised bed with excellent drainage next time: (

I think since they are doing this with a sponsor etc and have expectations from the company she is probably trying to look professional and I do appreciate her modesty! I know others do the pony tail, tank top and shorts, but I actually like how she dresses and prefer it! I myself dont wear shorts or bare arms and try to stay covered outside.

I bought the sweet romance lavender the spot where i want to plant them has compact soil and will be behind hydrangeas. I have an in ground sprinkler to water that area. Any suggestions on how to amend the soil so the lavender has a better chance of surviving? Im currently running the sprinkler every 3 days for about 10 minutes.
Thanks

Great video, my only question about Lavender is the water. Most tag say they don't need much water but I've seen some professional videos saying they need lots of water the first year? I live in Missouri and my first go around with lavender 2 years ago left me with 16 dead plants. Trying again this year!

I would LOVE for you to do a video about how to successfully bring plants indoors when the weather gets cooler in the fall. I have a couple that are thriving outdoors now (lavender, a hardy succulent) in the central-Indiana heat and humidity, but I want to have the best chance of keeping them alive.

Lavender does not need a lot of water. It also loves a lot of sun. To help protect it covering the soil with stone or crushed shells or transparent glass beads, helps keep the lover foliage dry. They also need more than 18 inches space between them when planted in the ground.
