Can You Plant in a Wicker Basket? Garden Answer Georgia: I am a native plant gardener.
I am so happy to know that these PW inkberries are cultivated to be a replacement for Box! I want a low front hedge to give my yard some structure and I have been searching for a native I can prune like a Box!
I have many inkberries on my property and you are right, none produce the berries.
Thanks, as always, great video! I cant wait to see how you use these inkberries in your garden! I think my garden center has some left over, on my way. byeee.

Thanks for this laura! I always get inspired with your arrangements and this was one I really appreciated! I've wanted to plant in a wood planter for the 6 years I've been a gardener/grower, but since it breaks down so fast, it's tough, with the crazy humid, rainy and hot weather we get here in Central Florida. I will be giving this techniqu a try! Thanks for sharing!

I have lots of small old baskets here. Due to the pandemic I started planting veggies in small cups and bottles. They are ready for re-potting and the baskets will be really good pots. I just need a wood sealant. I thought I can make a DIY wood sealant but I can noy find any DIY. hehehe
This video is the first one I watched about the baskets.
Thank you.

Did I miss the video creating the window planter with ornamental cabbage? It doesn't look tired, looks great (I was really hoping to do something like this)
Love this video, of course and thanks for sharing. Also thanks to you I now have several house plants, bulbs planted and planning for what to plant in my garden next year.

Awesome! I love baskets, the cheater way would be the way I would go. Love the bush you picked and love making it into a topiary. I use baskets inside and outside, love the tips on preserving our baskets. Your end result on your porch is perfect, simple but beautiful. Thank you again for this video, see you in the next one.

I would put a couple of pieces of slate underneath the basket to create air flow. In the covered area in the video, there isn't much chance of rain/snow water getting into it, but in other places, water may get in there and then the bottom would sit in a damp spot. A couple pieces of slate underneath will help with that.

I saw somewhere where someone took a larger flat coordinating fabric door mat, placed it under the thicker jute door mat, giving the mat a larger presentation. If Laura could find a black and white striped fabric mat. Like she has time for that, but it would look cute with her wreath.

Your backdoor looks really pretty! I turned a huge basket into a fairy garden. I did line it with plastic and put drainage holes in the baskets, been out for about a year-and-a-half now. Just recently had to reinforce the bottom of my basket. Have a wonderful day

I like the cheater way - easy and fast and it keeps the basket longer - Thank you Laura for all your tips and ideas and creativity in the past year and I'm looking forward to another great Garden Answer year to come. Happy New Year to you and your family

That came out just gorgeous, I like the natural elements, especially burlap, nice touch! Now I know what I can do with wicker baskets when I find them at the thrift stores. They always have so many of them. Thanks Laura and happy year! you guys.
