I was also out in the yard, but instead I was planting bulbs. Near you in Boise, the weather was just warm enough to dig holes for some of the bulbs that have been in the fridge just waiting for a bit of a thaw. The company I ordered from didn't get them here before the ground froze.
Wow, I love bulbs, so just ordered some more for pot displays, so will pop those sale items in the fridge upon arrival unless I can dig a couple of holes before they come.
Even thought about putting the sprinkler on for a bit, seems so weird of an idea.

A putter, or potter (as the Brits says) in the garden, can do one a world of good. I miss those what with my back problems, and feel a vicarious pleasure watching you, and of course Russell, and even a chicken! Such fun! Evene these small random task are important, but good for the soul as well. Keep them coming! And by the way - loved your comment about lawn-mowing in January! No mowers here in snowy Quebec - not until May probably. In this season it's time to get into winter sowing to keep in touch with the garden.

I love that you can do winter projects to show us. I wish I could get out and do winter projects.
Where I live in Winnipeg, Canada there is about 3 feet of snow on the ground and the forecast for tonight is -21 degrees C with the wind chill.
I had to chuckle when you said you were tempted to go over the lawn with the lawn mower but were concerned your neighbours would think you lost it. Kind of reminds me of myself.
Love your videos!

Hi Laura! I love your videos! I have been watching you for a long time. Thank you for your enthusiasm! It always bring smile on my face.
You are not the only one that works in the yard in the middle of the winter. I have been known to do a quick cleanup or a bit of pruning. My husband calls me Nuts. I have been known to be out in the garden with the head light trying to get some garden work done. So you're not alone.

You said you are going to clean up the garden bed of leaves and put much? Where l come from leaves are mulch, l would give anything to have all those leaves, l am puzzle leaves make the most wonderful mulch especialy oaks leaves, and l am not talking about leaving them on the grass. MULCH is very expensive and very precious and you are buying it qhen you could do your own, l am very very puzzle.

I enjoy your videos so much. Im confined to the house a lot because I do home dialysis five times a day and your videos give me the feeling of being out and about in the fresh air! Love them. And sightings of Russell! Would love to have a cat but its not recommended because of contamination issues with the dialysis equipment. Keep up the good work. Love and blessings on you and your sweet family!

My mum and I can't really do much in the garden in the winter because here in Montreal we tend to get lots of snow and consistent cold temperatures making everything frozen and dead and inaccessible. I would be happy to do it but can't. April is when we will be back working in our garden. I love your cleanup vlogs, keep doing more videos like this one.
Bye from Montreal Canada!

I do winter gardening, too. I am in zone 7b. Thanks for the info about greenhouse watering frequency! I can see that I've been way overdoing it in my winter garden: ) I have blooming and decorative plants in the garden all winter. I do not believe that garden should be ugly once the temps drop: ) Where I can't get blooms that I want, I use fake (plastic) plants.

Hahah you don't want your neighbors to think that you're a crazy gardening lady in JANUARY! These updates are so exciting. It's crazy to see how everything is just dormant right now, and then later everything is full of life and color. Looking forward to Spring! You should get some chickens! That would be fun to see!
