My Dream Greenhouse! Garden Answer Matthew: These are not good greenhouses though which is why I'm confused. they look nice but they're DESTROYED by wind. Aluminum is the first red flag - any quality greenhouse is going to be made of wood for lower heating costs or steel for durability. Also they cost a fortune for how crappy they are. They're definitely catering to the rich, frivolous type who don't consider being frugal. The mineral was is the only cool feature. Please don't buy this greenhouse brand - there are Amish companies that will custom build the same thing out of steel or wood for a fraction of the price.

they did not address how one normally heats the greenhouses? I saw the end one (victorian manor) with the wood or pellet stove but doubt that is the norm. So how are greenhouses usually heated in winter. Our winters are mild, lowest around 23 which is rare but there are placed that go down to zero. Even the teens is bad. So how do you heat greenhouses in winter.

These are beautiful, exactly what I was looking for, the way the windows are, looks sturdy, finials, option of brick or stone at the base, option of cold storage, hand crank openings, and I will have to look into the option of having one attached to my house, I would love that and put a cute table and chairs in like a garden sun room to enjoy.

And just like that almost exactly two years later (as Laura kind of predicted in this video, her dream is coming true! So very, very, very happy for you Laura. It will be beautiful on your property! This is definitely a dream of mine too! Someday. keep on dreamin!

Laura, is your greenhouse rain proof? We've just bought a house with a green house built by this same company. but it is not rain proof as the roof window closures don't close either on time or not properly close. leaking is typical here.

What about hail, are they rated to a specific size? I live in the Midwest where this would be an issue. Or do they have an option for polycarbonate that is more resistant to hail?
