Putting Together a Terrarium with Ferns! Garden Answer EmKn: I LOVE a fern terrarium! Another thing Ive found to help individual plants is picking up a simple bowl- or vase-shaped glass vessel (readily found at thrift stores and antique shops) and inverting it over/resting it on top of a potted plant. My maidenhair fern is doing really well this way. And with the whole thing placed inside a footed planter it looks like a fern in a bubblegum dispenser. cuter than it sounds I also found a huge hurricane-style glass that I placed over a tall fern. It can be a more affordable option, especially for a single, more established plant. But Im working on terrariums too! Anything to make these beauties survive indoors

Hi, I have a shub-like Chinese Evergreen and I think I'm killing it. When I bought it, earlier this month, it was realy pink and healthy; but now it is pale and seethrow in spots. We are in winter right now, and the snowy conditions cause water to freeze on the inside of the windows, and I don't want to get a growth light for it. Do you think a terrarium would help it, and how would you put it together?
I hope you can help me, I really love my succulent plants.
Kind regards Sarah

I have a tall terrarium (2 1/2ft) glass jar with lid, and when it does get alot of condensation should I remove the lid for a while, once it got almost like mold at the base of the plant, a little neantha bella palm) of white furry all over, but then it went away, I have had it in there for quite a few years, but I have never fertilized it, and finally I have heard that African violets can be put in a terrarium? have you ever done this or had any luck with them?

Very informative video. I am going to try this method with a Rabbit Foot Fern I have that is growing quite well right now in a plastic fish tank my grand daughter let me keep. I have never had success with this type of fern but your video gives me hope I will now. I am also going to try the other two ferns presented in your video as well as they are also very difficult to grow and keep happy. Thanks again, Flo

I love this terrarium, and loved the plants that you placed in each one. I would have to find a special spot for one if I made one, right now I don't have a good spot for one, but maybe one day. I love Russell, he is just a typical curious kitty. Thank you for sharing your beautiful terrariums, see you in your next video, Bye for now.

The Maidenhair Fern is my absolute favorite fern. They are so delicate. But, I have the same problem you do. They do not last very long around me with the humidity and all. I will have to try the terrarium and see how that will work, at least I know it will not dry out it will probably drown. Great video, thanks.

Hi, I love your arrangements always! I am totally inspired to make a fern terrarium, although I am a bit iffy about adding pine cones to mine because I will be making it in a closed jar and I'm scared it would rot in there. It doesn't completely seal the jar though.

Hi Laura, I seen a video of yours where you have a lemon cypress. I bought one clearance at a grocery store. It is really dry an yellow. I keep misting it an watering when needed. Still is very dry. Any suggestions on care would be appreciated. Thanks, Sue

Beautiful!
BUT you didn't use any charcoal. Not needed?
And thanks for update on hydro stones.
Also, I love seeing Russell. My Fuego was that deep rich orange color. He also had a bullseye on his side's. I miss him terribly!
