Making Walnut Cones & Spheres! (More Holiday Decor)
video description
Also, a quick tip (or two) I wanted to share with you. On one of your videos I heard you comment about some of the cones falling off the wreath (I think) or some stuff that you had hot glued, falling off because of heat. I was watching a crafter make some stuff the other day and she was using both hot and tacky glue at the same time. She said that she used the hot glue because of the convenience of being able to attach things fast but then the tacky glue made the attachment sturdier and durable and it made sense. I immediately thought of you and thought I would share in case you thin its a good idea.
Also, dipping the tip of the glue gun in Vaseline helps prevent the annoying strings although your, or rather your viewers tip about the blow dryer was great. I will have to give that a try. I think it might work even better.

I appreciate that you're plastic sensitive, but I want to say that we need to think about the future of the planet, not just what will last during our lifetime. We could make bases with papier mache' and not put more plastic into the universe. If we stop using it, they'll eventually stop making it. Save the plastic for things that can absolutely not be made without it. (televisions, etc)

Great project - love the use of natural things. Can you talk about your cold frame during your next Q&A? We are having trouble keeping any heat in our frame once the sun goes down and I believe you said yours stays about 20 degrees warmer. Do you have instillation or do you think the wood wall sides help? We would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks!

I once made a swag out of Ohio buckeyes. It required screwing in little eye hooks into the nuts. Within a few weeks the nuts had worms! Had to throw it out. P. S. Where is your bowl of ice water? Never once used a glue gun and not burned myself at least once. :-)

Very cute! Love reading everyone's ideas on how they would make it their own! I was thinking, if you didn't want to use foam cones, maybe you could take a thick poster board, or double a thin one, and make a cone out of that. The sphere would be another story!

I love your videos and I know that you would get your income from the advertisements that would play before and after the videos. My question is, will it make any difference if I skip the video after 5secs or watch the complete video?

I loved watching the walnuts magically leave the bag, one by one! Great video work, as usual, Aaron!
My dad actually created framed pictures using various dried seeds. My mom still has them on her wall, fifty years later!
